Can I put it indoors as a night light?

I have one in my kitchen window (on the east side of the house) and I love waking into the kitchen at night and seeing it lit up, so pretty.

My lanterns have not stayed lit more than three hours since the first night I used them. They get plenty of sun to charge the battery. Any advice?

I think that the solar component is not a well made product because my lateen stopped working as well.

Does anyone know how bugs attract to this? I think they are adorable and am ready to purchase. I just don’t want to have to worry about mosquitos.
