Russell StoverSugar Free Assorted Fruit Hard Candies, 12 oz. Bag

I was a little hesitant to splurge on these candies because they're not exactly cheap, but boy am I glad I did! They're insanely delicious, Totally worth it! The only thing is they get kinda melty if it's warm, so I just keep some in the fridge and the rest in a cool spot in the pantry.

Good taste. Almost as good as sugared ones. Good fruit flavor.

I like this brand and very much wanted to like the candies, but...Flavors are bland, not distinctive. They are not bad, just not particularly great either.My biggest problem, however is with the sweetener. These candies are advertised as sweetened with stevia, but stevia is near the end of the ingredients list, while malitol is one of the 1st few ingredients, meaning stevia is practically an afterthought for an item sweetened with malitol, a sugar alcohol which causes GI distress, bloating, gas, and diahrea if you eat more than 2 or 3 pieces in a day. Moreover, malitol is not a zero calorie sweetener, so these sugar free candies are NOT low calorie. Lastly, malitol can spike blood sugar, so diabetics need to exercise caution when eating these sugar free candies.So my question is, What's the point of sugar free candy given that it costs much more than that made with sugar and doesn't taste anywhere near as good AND (1) it's not low calorie, (2) it may spike blood sugar, and (3) it will very likely result in a day of bloating, gas, cramping, and even diarrhea if you dare to eat more than 2-3 pieces per day! If I could stop at 2-3 pieces I could just eat regular candy made with sugar & skip the high price, bland flavor, and GI unpleasantness.

I've tried every sugar free hatd candy only the planetand although this is the absolutely best tasting sugar free hard candy in this world it is not worth the energy or effort needed to enjoy it. No matter what climate it is delivered to from cold to hot the clear twist wrapper on every individually wrapped piece is stuck to the candy so much so that it takes more than ten minutes and a soaking in warm water to get the candy out of the wrapper. Whether you order this bag of hard candy directly from russell stover, amazon, other mail order or buy it in a store the result is the same and the stickiness gets all over your handsWould be a terric tasty treat if it would simoly untwist the wrapper, pop in your mouth & enjoy but that doesn't happen and no candy is worth fighting it to enjoy. Complaints have been made with russell stover customer support staff and although they recognize the problem -apathetic and lack of csre !!!!

These do have carbs, but not a lot, and are a nice treat
