I purchased this auger to adjust the soil pH and nutrients around a maple tree. Although it would have been better if the bit was a inch or two longer, it got the job done. Using a corded Milwaukee drill with a keyed chuck, I was able to easily bore a series of 24 holes, each 2" diameter using the full length of the bit. The bit held up to drilling into wet heavy clay soil with no bending or deformation. The bit allowed me to easily add sulfur and nutrients at depth around the drip line of the tree. Rinsed off the dirt and looks like new. Good purchase for the price. Received quickly. A+

Used this auger set to dig a hole (40cm deep) for a metal post on the weekend, and it works great.I'm really glad I bought this set with the four sizes because I encountered some pebbles about 15-30cm below and being able to use different sizes helped to get through the pebbles, e.g. the smaller sizes helped to loosen the pebbles and the bigger sizes made the hole wide enough.I attached the augers to a standard cordless drill and it had adequate power for the application.Only advice is to wear an adequate pair of gloves if you're digging tough soil as I ended up have a blister on my hand - ouch!

Well-made set of four different diameter augers that fit easily into a drill motor. Great for loosening ground around weeds and runaway ground cover to capture the root system, for planting flowers or bulbs or turning over soil. Could use a more sturdy storage tray as mine arrived crushed.

Use with a corded drill (and extension cord). Made planting bulbs easy and FUN! Be careful of your wrist. Turn the drill to "reverse" to help back out. Multiple sizes is really wonderful because you can adjust for the size of your bulb and also the terrain you are drilling into. Colour makes them fun - although some of the paint has already come off due to scraping by rocks, however that hasn't impeded their usefulness. Grateful I got them for fall planting.
