I was very indecisive about getting this product, and more so because of the color. I have very dark hair, but it is not that dark to be black, so finally I got the Dark Brown, which matches perfectly with my natural hair.I'm dying my hair because I have a white hair spot that started growing three months ago, and I was feeling uncomfortable with it, so I decided to hide it.I would say that this product exceeded my expectations. I only use it in specific spots, so I don't use it on the entire hair, and it works perfectly for me. It does not require a lot of maintenance, is good for the hair, and I didn't have any allergic reaction. It works similarly to a regular hair dye, but quicker and easier.The only thing I can say is that the bottle is not perfect because every time I use it, I have to fight with the cap, but that is not a reason to give it fewer stars, because this product itself is awesome.So, if you are here checking the reviews to decide whether to buy it or not, this is your time. I wanted to wait until I used this product a few times before reviewing it, and after using it 2x in 6 months (have a lot of hair, just passed my shoulders), to cover my grays I am BEYOND THRILLED with it!1st, purchased DARK BROWN because I read it covered the grays the best.What a GORGEOUS color!It highlights itself beautifully as my hair becomes exposed to the sun due to work, taking long walks, going on our nature trails or gardening.Beautiful!Have had a number of compliments!2nd, still have product left for other applications. It is rich and NOT runny! Excellent to work with.3rd, I have never, ever, DIY hair colored before, and was petrified!After a botched job by a new beautician (my stylist moved), and spending $$ to get that horrible job done to boot, decided to try my hand at DIY4th, here is how I apply it after watching a number of different videos. Hope it's useful for you too:I shake the bottle very well before applying.Use stained towels to cover sink and all around me, just in case a drop makes it's way where it shouldn't (again, it is NOT runny).Obviously use plastic gloves and cover top with small stained towels I tuck into neckline to keep in place1st apply to my grays around my face, and at top of head where it naturally parts towards the back (my grays are more pronounced around front of my face vs anywhere else), and leave it on for about 1 to 2 minutes maximum.Then I apply in sections all around my head. Rub it thoroughly in, obviously not too crazily to avoid knotting my hair. Almost more like massaging it in vs hard rubs.I then take a wide toothed comb, and comb it through CAREFULLY to avoid spillage onto floor, and take the product on the comb to rub back in wherever I feel it is necessary.Rub it all in again (I do not add more product at this point, I massage thoroughly all around what is already there), comb through again, gently add excess off comb again where needed (pat it in this time), and set timer to lowest number of minutes, given that it took me a bit to do this (I work VERY slowly, maybe you won't I am still petrified, so am cautiously working this in).I then rinse THOROUGHLY as noted, towel dry, and style as usualLeaves hair super soft yet NOT flat. Love this product!Now, the 1st time I used it I did notice a funky odor to the product and my hair until I washed it with shampoo a few days later.That did not, at all, occur the 2x I used the product. Could be that it was sitting a bit in the container (I REALLY shook it the 2nd time, more than the 1st time).Will absolutely 💯 be ordering this product again when it runs out.Am SOOO happy with the results and ease of use, not to mention how it beautifully holds color as it also naturally highlights itself (and does NOT bleed through). Holy cow this stuff works! I only left it in 15 mins and then conditioned right after I rinsed. Probably could’ve left it in for shorter and it still would’ve worked. My silver hairs are gone and my medium brown hair is definitely darker… not quite black but definitely very dark brown, almost black. I did this shortly before bed and there was no stain on my pillow. My scalp did itch while the shampoo was on, but not that bad and went away as soon as I was rinsing it out. Will update review if I notice any negative effects later on.

This really works! The black darkened my hair to black. While it probably does stain a little it doesn't seem too bad. I just made sure to wash my hands well after I applied it and it didn't stain my hands or shower. Not very expensive for a very effective product.

Oh my goodness, I cannot say enough good things about this product. Beautiful color, leaves your hair feeling smooth and shine. Great quality. Perfect rich dark brown color. Easy to rinse out. Lasts for about a week and a half to two weeks before having to touch up. But that will vary based on how quick your hair grows.
