Skeptical First Timer but It Works!
I've never done a nasal wash before and always considered it kind of a gross thing to do. However since moving to Southern California from the Southeast U.S. my nose runs constantly and I've tried various allergy meds with little relief. I finally became willing to try nasal irrigation and chose this kit after reading the reviews. It only took me once or twice to figure it out. After washing my nose feels great, my nasal passages immediately feel much clearer and better without that dry feeling that comes from medications and nose blowing. In fact, I came down with a cold about a week after receiving this product while I was still trying it out. I found that the nasal wash process especially helped clear out my nose and get rid of a lot of the gunk that was hanging out in it, particularly in the morning when my nose was feeling worst. I blew out some gross greenish blobs that probably needed to go. It was a welcome respite from the constant nose blowing which made my poor nose raw and painful. I should note that it can be messy, and it takes a little practice to figure out how to hold your breath to avoid getting it down your throat. I also occasionally got some water in my ears but after a little bit of light blowing and leaning forward the water eventually comes out. It also sometimes burns a little (I use two salt packets for maximum effect) but it's over quick and worth it for the way my nose feels after. I suggest either doing this in the shower or over a sink with lots of towels, as your head needs to be upright and the water will just come out your other nostril and get all over your chest. Also, my husband has a deviated septum, he tried it once and didn't like it, he said it burned plus he was unable to get the water around and out the other nostril. I don't think this is recommended for people who have a deviated septum, just a fair warning. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend for folks who have constant rhinitis like myself.

I never knew I needed a netty pot! I do!
So one doctor gives me a sample of arm and hammer sinus mist rinse. It works! But the cost of that stuff is stupidly high! So my neurologist tells me a week later, I need a netty pot. I am realizing I do, they truly work! Cleared my sinuses, no more post nasal drip, stopped my nagging cough from flem, pressure gone and I just feel better. Should have listened to the hippies long before. Lol. But holding a traditional netty and mixing the solution in there is for the birds. This one doesn’t go grossly up your nose, but up to it. You squeeze the bottle little by little to get it in there. The plastic is thin and easy for my limited hand function. I mix up two bottles a day by just shaking it up, lid on. It’s four uses, two each bottle full. You could bring this through your day in your purse as it doesn’t leak but it’s not that portable in my opinion. No burning with the solution in my nostrils whatsoever. It’s easy to clean, easy to use and works.

4.5 stars; perfect except you gotta replace bottle each season
Nice starter kit for a 1st time Neti pot user. I suffer from year round terrible allergies, occasional sinus infection, princess like demands of products, and inflammation in my face and body from the allergies.Should you but it?PROS: Yes, because it is the easiest neti pot to use. No awkward angles to try and get water to defy gravity and go up your nose; just squeeze the bottle until you get your desired water pressure. Yes, because it comes with everything you need, including pre-measured salt packets, to add to sterilized/distilled/purified/boiled water provided by you. Yes, because it was a pleasant experience. Yes, because it works.CONS: No, because you are supposed to replace the bottle every 3 months... which means you're ordering this kit or the like every 3 months.*I hope the makers decide to make a one-time purchase only version (using a different material/plastic, since I suppose the issue is keeping the squeeze ability), because I just want to buy 1 neti pot and then forget about it. I don't want to throw down $15 every season to wash my nose.*TIPS:*keep boiled water from the coffee or tea pot and use that after it's cooled down; store the boiled water in the fridge for neti pot use. NEVER use tap water unpurified/unboiled.*Warm it up like you would a bottle for a kid, in a bowl of hot water and test on wrist. Warm water is more pleasant in the nose. Never microwave the bottle.*Use the neti pot in the shower; it's the easiest way to stop from making a mess.*Don't forget to breathe while doing it, out your nose and in through mouth.*Do the more clogged nostril first.*Wash with warm water and mild detergent/dish soap to clean, air dry and make sure completely dry before using.*Wash all parts before first use.
