If you are looking at this, you need it. A multiscender with total lockout capability? Yes, it is! Great for spar work for sure. Descent is smooth and controlled, ascent is good, just have to lift the device sometimes for it to bite immediately. Not for people weighing less than 100 pounds, in my personal opinion.

Keeps my son safe!
My son cuts down trees for a living and had been wanting this for awhile. They are very expensive but worth every penny when it keeps a loved one safe.

Good idea not carried out
Works just fine if you want to ascend and descend. Lousy for limb walking or working on. Up and down for fun is about it. I am aware of after market add ons you can get for it, but it should have those from the factory. It is for rec rope climbing, period.

This thing is awesome but it could use a pulley and some sort of rope retainer to keep it in the bottom. This is not a complaint, just my opinion. I absolutely love it though!
