Easy to use and safer than a powered saw
A friend recommended me to get this easy hand chain saw blade if I was ever riding my horses through the woods and got stuck. I got it, put it in my saddle bag. It wasn't a month after I got it I was riding with a friend and there was a tree down in our path and the surrounding area looked extremely difficult to get around safe. We tied the horses up and in less than 5 min, one on each side, we cut this tree that was approximately 8 inches thick. I'm still amazed we did it. It's a lot safer than a gas or electric chain saw. Highly recommend.

Great for the weight
If you backpack and care about weight this is a great tool. About half a pound and can cut logs with a 6 or 7 inch diameter pretty well. It's also a great form of exercise for your arms and back.

Well built, Easy to use, Compact
This is my first pull-chain style saw, so I cant compare to anything... but this thing is small but mighty. It isn't the lightest saw I've carried, but it more than makes up for it in the diameter of what it can cut. I can't speak to durability yet, but I ran it through a dozen 4" - 8" dry limbs and it handled everyone under 30 seconds with consistent pulling. I have not tested on wet wood yet, so we shall see.NOTE: This is not meant to be a "replacement for a 36" bar chain saw. The largest diameter I believe this would be effective to is 10", maybe 12" but that would be pushing it.The fact that I can coil it up and stuff it in the front of a bino harness means that you get a ton of cutting ability for not a lot of weight. If you are counting ounces then maybe keep to an aluminum folding saw or what have you, but this is my new go to if you don't mind a few more oz. I am very excited to be able to clear downed trees that otherwise would turn my pickup/atv back or spend the time axing through. This will make collecting firewood a breeze as well. The one thing to look out for while using these pull-chain type saws is that if you are sawing from a safe position (opposite of which way the tree/limb will fall) then the chain will get pinched in the kerf quite easily. So, you somewhat have to be in the line of fire for a while to use the chain without it binding. To avoid this, I would recommend getting 1/2 way thru on the lean side and then switch to the safe position and finish out the limb. Anyone with experience and common sense would figure this out, but for those brand new to this style saw (like i was) I thought this might help. Happy trails!

I think it will serve
Upon unboxing, product appears very well made and durable, as it's in a SHTF kit, I haven't had to use the saw yet. It was well packaged and oiled so should be ready when I need it.

I couldn't make this work
I am terrified of chainsaws, so this product appeared like a perfect solution for someone like me. With a little more work, I could accomplish the same goal of cutting down the small trees in my yard (4-6 inch diameter). However, I could not make this product work. I was able to get it started alright, and it effectively cut while it was going. However, without fail, it always managed to get stuck. Always. I eventually had to just abandon the cut and feed the blade back out of the slit. So, needless to say, I am pretty disappointed. I wish this would have worked.Update: I saw some videos where folks used wedges to keep the tree from pinching the blade and keeping it from sawing back and forth. So, I bet that's the solution to this problem. You need to wedge the slit as you go deeper to keep it propped up. I will add a star to my original review, because I think this issue has a fix.

36 ft oak tree? No problem.
I just used this to cut down a 36 ft oak tree in my backyard. Took a little longer than if I had used a pole saw but there were a lot of limbs my pole saw wouldn’t reach. No problem for the pocket chainsaw. Just tied a hammer to a rope and threw it over the high branches. I will say I just learned about the high limb rope saw by CAMPNDOOR. If I had known about it, I would have purchased that product instead. Still, this one worked well. It was much safer than using a pole saw because I could stand far from the tree while working my ropes which I had attached to the paracord handles. Best of all, my young sons were able to use it with me and get some experience and good memories. Also, tree guys wanted $1000 to cut the tree since it was in a tight spot. Saved a lot of money using this, and was able to cut the tree, piece by piece, with precision.
