Fantastic Textbook
This is a great textbook! I used it in one of my TESOL courses, and it is, by far, my favorite. I love how this textbook includes activities at the end of the chapter. Also, I think it provides some great insight into what English learners (ELs) may be feeling as they adjust to a new culture.

Content is helpful and useful but quality is terrible.
The content and information found with the book is great, relate, and interesting. I purchased this for an ESOL class. The quality of the actual book is terrible. The spine is weak, the pages are just glued in. The first 80 pages split from the spine after the first read. Be careful as you read/use this resource as it will easily fall apart.

Binding fell apart
The binding was set too close to the edge of the paper and the book is falling apart and pages are coming out. It only gets worse the farther I read into the book and turn more pages. I'll have to take it somewhere to get is spiral bound.

Informational
Was helpful for my course. I was just missing having an index in the book to refer topics I wanted to review or look up in the book.

this in not a bad book but its not great either
Andrea DeCaupa came to my scholl for a PD and gave a presentation on MALP. what she presented was not something i disagreed with but it also was not helpful. Andrea talks a lot about adapting curriculum to different culters yet she her self has not spent significant time teaching ELL students. she makes a lot of statements about not assuming literacy or that people come from an academic view but her book and presentations come at things from strictly an academic view. this in not a bad book but its not great either
