Toto C5 Washlet Bidet
I had family members encouraging me to try bidets, so after years of ignoring their suggestions, I finally relented and bought one. I had never tried a bidet before, but I was pretty sure that I didn't want a basic one without bells and whistles, so I settled on the Toto C5. Installation was incredibly simple, with everything needed included in the kit. The biggest issue was getting an outlet close enough to plug in the bidet, which was ultimately also a relatively simple solution by snaking an extension cord under the vanity. I chose the C5 with its hand-held remote over the C2 which has a control panel affixed to the right side of the bidet. Good choice, as it seems to be much easier to access the functions without having to twist to find the right buttons to push on the C2 panel. The features of the bidet are functional and thoughtful. The features are well described in the product information, so no point in repeating them here, other than to say that they all function as described. Since I had never used a basic cold water, non electric bidet, I can't compare the C5 against anything else, other to say that I can't imagine using anything less than the one that I purchased. The heated seat, warm water, and warm air drying are amazing, and the deodorizing & self cleaning appear to work well. If you prefer to not have heated seat and water available 24X7, it also has an Auto Energy Saving mode, which detects periods of infrequent use. This also seems to work well in my first few weeks of use. The warm water reservoir provides heated water for about 60 seconds, then gradually gets cooler. For me, this is sufficient, as it heats up again fairly quickly if needed. The more expensive K300 model provides unlimited hot water if that is a requirement. The Toto C5 has made me a convert to bidets, and I really have no desire to use a standard toilet seat again unless there is no choice.

A wonderful addition to the home
We were in Japan recently and found that the best hotels there had Toto toilets. They were amazing, so we decided to invest in a Toto Washlet C5 when we got home, and we’re glad we did. We had a licensed plumber install it (so we can’t comment on the ease of installation), but using it is easy and comforting. The controls are intuitive, allowing customization of water temperature, water pressure, and placement of the bidet jet for up to two users. The seat is heated, which makes middle of the night visits pleasant. Use of the bidet cuts down significantly on toilet paper use … and cost. It’s a great addition to the home.

Toto C5 Elongated Washlet+ has 2 models, be aware.
We have been using water bidets for more than 30 years. Our cold water units have proven to be effective, reliable and practical. Time to upgrade since we also changed our 3 toilets to one-piece units from Toto. The Toto Washlet+ C5 is in a class of its own. The functionality is superb, providing selectable temperature and water flow options, as well as a gentle feminine spray for the ladies. All in all, a 5-star product. But some things should be pointed out, although are not cause for a lesser rating.1) the toilet seat being the "chair height" option is fine, but if you add the Washlet unit, which in itself is rather tall, the whole combo may become uncomfortably high for some people. Just take your measurements before buying.2) The rear washing spray could be one or two steps of more powerful. Again, it will be just fine for most people.3) The timer option lets you decide on power savings turning off the heating unit(s) for none, 6 or 9 hours. I would have preferred an extra 12 hour option. There's also a auto energy saver that "learns" your schedule and adjusts the timer accordingly.4) SW3084 is a standard WASHLET+ bidet seat, while SW3084T40 is specifically designed for and only works with TOTO's T40 series WASHLET+ Ready toilets. The 3084T40 allows the water hose and cable to be tucked behind the unit and completely out of site. I wish these two units were more clearly advertised to be able to make the better selection. Since I discovered the difference after installing the 3 units, I decided not to return them for an exchange and kept the original Washlets+.Conclusion: it is still a 5-star product.
