Many uses including a rodent barrier
I used this steel wool to rodent proof a house. When coupled with some expanding foam, it kept the little buggers out all winter long. In prior years, the mice were a real problem. Not anymore!

Keeps pests out but Rusts!
Our home inspector recommended we fill weep holes with this. It has been successful at keeping critters and bugs out completely but it does rust after a while!

Title: Rusts Easily, Not Stainless as Advertised. I feel I was lied to and ripped off.
I recently purchased the Stainless Steel Wool, Steel Wool Fill Fabric Roll, Gap Blocker Coarse Wire Hardware Cloth DIY Kit for Holes, Wall, Garden, Kitchen, Pipeline in Garage (20FT) from Amazon, and I must say I am quite disappointed with the product. The listing claims that it is stainless steel, but that couldn't be further from the truth.First of all, the description boasts about its effectiveness in deterring mice and blocking holes and cracks, but it fails to mention one crucial detail: this product rusts easily if it gets wet! Within a single night, I noticed that a magnet had a strong attraction to the steel wool, and the next morning, it was covered in rust. This completely defeats the purpose of using stainless steel, as rust can compromise its durability and effectiveness. The product is advertised as being made of high-quality metal fiber, similar to wool, which is supposed to be soft, thick, and flexible. While it does have those qualities, it's disheartening to see how quickly it rusts. Additionally, it claims that small animals can't chew through the steel fibers, but what good is that if the steel wool itself is prone to rusting and deterioration?Furthermore, the listing mentions that the steel wool can be easily cut to the desired size with ordinary scissors, which is true. However, it fails to mention the importance of wearing gloves when handling it. The steel fibers can cause injury if not handled with care, and this vital information should have been included in the description.Overall, I find this product to be misleading and not up to the standards I expected. It is not stainless steel as advertised, and the rusting issue makes it unsuitable for long-term use. I would caution potential buyers to consider alternative options that truly deliver on their promises. I hope the seller takes note of these shortcomings and rectifies them in the future.

Hornet deterrent trial
We are trying this steel wool along with peppermint oil as a deterrent for hornets we have every year where we have a vent to our log burning insert that presents on our front porch. The insect jaws cannot chew thru the wool. It was a bit fragrant at first and has worn off since, but we have not had the usual gathering/nesting going on so far. That being said, it is early in the season. I plan to reapply the oil periodically thru the summer. I will come back to reassess in August.

Not Stainless, otherwise good value for the money.
As the title states, "Not Stainless", otherwise good value for the money. It's just two, 30' packages of tightly wound 0000 fine steel wool. Imho, it's a reasonable value for the price so I'll be keeping it, but I needed stainless.

Love the quantity and ease of use for filling in gaps in vintage trailer
This is easy to unroll to any length, and easy to cut with sharp scissors. Thickness is medium. It flattens out and stretches quite a bit when unrolled. I'm bunching it up, so it's perfect. I'm don't think it would be strong or thick enough for strenuous rubbing to clean a really dirty surface. The roll was bigger than I expected, so I have plenty for my current project and a lot left over for the future. I am using it as quick fix to stuff into all sizes of odd-shaped gaps and crevices in my vintage camper around the wheel wells and under the sink. I covered it in some places with duct tape for extra pressure. I first purchased steel wool cleaning pads, but they don't fit snuggly into the cracks. The intent is to keep out pests while I am gone. Ease of use is A+. Rodent and bug proof? Not yet tested!

Not stainless
Definitely not stainless steel. It immediately rusted. I used this to fill some outside holes to prevent insects from entering. Within a month I noticed they were rusting out. Definitely not stainless steel. Now I have rust stains to deal with as well as trying to pick out the remains of the steel wool.
