THIS BIN HAS CHANGED MY LIFE
Seriously. Already having it second summer and not a single time I could smell the bin in the heat, it holds the smells perfectly and that is crucial when having an open kitchen like ours. Most of the filter fit in as well, so no need to stock up the brand ones. The design is also looking good, just a simple box standing on the counter. Worth every penny

Well made, attractive and smell free
Nice and discrete and the usual Joseph Joseph quality. Easy to clean and the line has a filter, so the small of ripe vegetable doesn't spill over into the kitchen. You can use degradable bags or paper bags (I prefer the former, as they don't get soggy and split) depending upon what you need for recycling.

Super happy with this item.caddy is compact and has a nice design, very sturdy, closes well adn looks nice on the counter or kitchen.Colour is not white,it's a very light grey.Very easy to add the bag ( I used 6 l bag and fits well) and to put / remove the filter. The handle is super useful to move the caddy from one place to anoter. This is a good purchase

Intelligent kitchen waste management if you have a garden composter
Like most (not quite all) designs from Joseph Joseph, this compost caddy is a sturdy, well-made and well-thought-out design, strong and stable in use and the perfect size: large enough to be useful but small enough to be never in the way, and to need regular emptying. The caddy comes in a choice of four tasteful colours and is in two parts: the main container with a free-swinging chrome loop handle, and the separate hinged lid (with a built-in anti-odour filter) which helps to secure the biodegradable liner as you re-fit it to the main container. Everything is chunky and stylish, and satisfying to use. It’s strong and easy to clean, as all the internal surfaces are moulded round and smooth. The only minor downside is that the built-in filter is an unnecessary complication if you empty it every day, and the price is at the premium end of the scale. But it’s good value nevertheless because it’s so well made it will last for years.

A nice worktop repository for food scraps.
Whilst I find the Joseph Joseph Brand to be a little pretentious and overpriced, this worktop food repository is an excellent addition to any kitchen if you live within a council area that requires you to dispose of food scraps separately to other rubbish. I would not buy their compostable food waste bags, as these are massively overpriced in my opinion and far better value alternatives are available from Amazon.

Expensive but very practical and worth the extra.
I used to use the mushroom boxes to collect bits for the compost but I was having to go and empty them up to three times a day. This is much better. It holds a good amount of vegetable waste and trips to the heap now happen once every other day.I have not used the Joseph Joseph bags, just the 10 litre compost bags from Tesco. Once I'd got the knack of fitting them tidily and gathering the excess to poke through the hole at the back, the cheapo bags work fine.I wanted a rectangular bin as I work on a butchers' trolley and was sweeping all the waste straight into the mushroom boxes with the back of my knife or a sponge. Old habits die hard and a few times I have tried holding the box in the same way, but the top rim that covers the bag edges comes off - with disastrous results as the rest of the box, and its contents, crashes to the floor. I am now sweeping onto a small chopping board and scraping that into the bin. The rectangular shape is good for that. The bin is a good squat shape, no chance of it toppling over. The lid stays up fine but I will not be putting this through the dishwasher just in case I end up with the same lid problems others have had. It's easy enough to wipe out and doesn't seem to get very dirty at all. I have found some condensation in the bin underneath the bag but that is easily wiped with a bit of kitchen roll.I have no complaints about the handle either. It seems fine. The charcoal filter works really. It holds in smells completely, even the obnoxious smell of banana skins stays inside. I did think that once this filter wore out I would cut a chunk of cooker hood filter to use instead but it works so well and seems to be lasting ok so I might splash out on the correct filters.Just for the sake of testing it thoroughly I have removed the filter and put it back. I struggled until I realised that you release the clip underneath and push up so the filter cover pops off the top. I find that I only need to push one clip and do not need to squeeze the two together. All in all, a well designed product that does the job extremely well.

Looks stylish
I was previously using a tin waste bin to match my utensil tin. But it got rusty. I am happy with the colour and the style. It's a good size and I like the bin can be wiped clean. I read some people have been having trouble getting the right size compostsble bags for the bin. I use Tesco compostsble bin liners which are perfect.
