I ordered this to trim the fur on our mini dachshund's paws. It works very well. It is pretty quiet.

This item did not work out of the box. I inserted brand new batteries, twice and the item wouldn’t even turn on. Didn’t have a safety tab either, I checked. Do not waste your time and money. Returned.

Battery operated. Took forever due to the small size and amount of hair between my long hair doxies toes! But its good for delicate areas or if your dog has tiny feet. I ended up buying a full size men's shaver for her and it saves a lot of time. But I'll keep it for myself, for during the summer months, if you know what I mean.

My dog constantly has grinch toes. I swear her hair grows overnight. She does not like her feet to be trimmed or nails to be cut. So this honestly was a lifesaver. I guess for the price it was I can’t expect a premium high-quality mini shaver. But it definitely did the job and took so much stress off of me and my pup. Was pretty quiet didn’t vibrate much at all. Now don’t get me wrong, it made noise but nothing that was overly loud that would scare her. My biggest tip would be to shave the hair downwards first so with the grain so to speak, then trim against the grain also to go slow. It’s not an industrial razor, so it does take time for the Shaver to cut through the hair. Now I wish I could find something for nail trimming to reduce the stress of that.

Would have given it 5 stars if it would have trimmed the hair on its own. Have Pomeranians and they tend to get hobbit feet, making it difficult to trim nails. My hand tremors and eyesight not as good as it used to be, makes scissors a little risky on trimming the hair on those tiny feet and this takes care of that for me. No, does not come with guards or led lights and it’s not a big deal. I doubt you can cut any skin with them and if you can’t see the hair without a bright light, why worry about? They do cut the hair nicely. I think it may tickle them a little though.
