A similar product by eheim advises - do not use together with active carbon, is there any truth in this with the fluval product ? what advice ?

I use it together with active carbon. Whilst in my experience it will still soften the water/reduce pH, I think the active carbon does counteract the browning/yellowing of the water to some degree

Does this reduce ph and kh simultaneously? If so, does anyone know how much i would need for 600l tropical?

No it won’t affect KH, and peat will have less affect at higher KH.
