An amazing indepth guide to figure painting. My only disappointment is the subject matter, insofar as that his subject matter was limited to the Corvus Belli Infinity figures. Beyond that, one can only learn and appreciate his skills.

this book is so good cost a lot but i would pay it again came from eu came by royel mail so tock some time but in good con when it gothere if you want to paint beter its a must have.

Great guide for advanced painters.I've been painting miniature for 15 years as a hobby but I wanted to improve my technique by adding airbrush effect to my painting style and this book covers some great tricks for that.The Giraldez style can be exagerated to produce "cell shading" effects on miniature which was exactly what I wanted for my Panoceanian battle group.I didn't give it 5 stars simply because some steps are rushed with important details overlooked. Still, I'll buy Volume 2 if it is ever published.

This book is beautiful. Loads of step by step high quality photos with descriptions.One thing to note is that this is a masterclass tutorial of the way this guy paints so you need to already be able to paint to a high standard to get anywhere with it. It's also mainly airbrushing techniques.But it comes with a free model for a panO army which makes it very good value.

If you are into painting minis and want to improve this is the book to get. It is not intended for a complete beginner but if you want to improve your standard this is the book to getEven includes a free mini

I follow Angel and have seen some of his videos, whhere he goes a bit more in depth with his technique, so this is more of a companion type thing. It does expect you to have an understanding if certain techniques, which I think is the reason for hom not going too deeply into how to glaze or similar things. He's signed each book, which I think shows his appreciation and this is great just for seeing how he uses color. If you're more preferential towards videos, there are the Painting Buddha dvds which are also great, as well as their youtube channel, which really go intondetail about techniques.

A good place to start for airbrush and paint brush. Covers how to airbrush armour and paint flesh tones. There are lots of pictures to show the different stages.

Excellent book that shows techniques for painting miniatures. The pictures are clear and the descriptions explain the stages involved, and the book comes with a limited edition sci-fi Joan of Arc figure.

I don't know the answer to that, and it's entirely subjective.Don't go into this book looking for "basics", you're going to need a pretty solid painting background before even starting.However, it's a pretty handy reference to see these models painted step by step, to this level of skill.Now if you're the kind of person who likes physical copies of books want a hard copy book to keep on your shelf, then this is a pretty cool book to have. However... you can find step by step tutorials online, so if owning the book isn't that important to you? Well, make your choice.Now, is it worth $100? I'm gonna say... not... really? There's no denying Mr. Giraldez' talent, and I am one who enjoys holding a book in his hands, but I am going to say that it's overpriced.I'm happy with it. I like it. But I paid too much, and I know it.

If you have just one book to buy to up your game on miniature painting (especially in the SCI-FI range or where there is a lot of armor) then this is the SECOND book you should buy. The first is Angel's Painting Miniatures from A to Z VOLUME 2. Volume 2 will help you moh-bettah level up your game. Volume 2 has better rundown on mixing paints for the airbrush, materials, etc. Volume 1 (this book) is a GREAT book right out of the gate and is rich with technique and some close-ups of detail work to get that Infinity look. But it has some knowledge gaps that are just filled nicely in Volume 2. I very highly recommend both books as they are both really great, but if you are going to start with one, then pony-up for VOLUME 2 first! OR - buy them both together and be joyful that you did as you will not be disappointed. GAME ON!
