Brilliant
I have tried other devices like this to get my ps1 onto a smart tv..with no success....however this piece of kit is absolutely fantastic, works perfectly and worked first time..so I can now have some nostalgia time playing old ps1 games on my 75" smart tv.....very very happy, super price, well worth buying...

It just works.
This little thing works just as it says. Plug in, power up and done. Picture is fine for what I need and it works with my pc monitor. Recommend this item to anyone on a budget wanting to play PS2 on a modern screen.

Does exactly what it says it does, great price and easy to set up.
Great solution to the problem of playing retro playstation on modern TVs. Very simple installation, took less than a minute and I was loading up a game. 10 mins later I remembered why I never got into gaming as a kid.

Better than a Composite, Same as a
It's solid enough but I was expecting the output on a HD TV to be superior to a component cable which I already had. It is superior to a composite cable.

Works better than expected
I was sceptical ordering this at first, after watching many youtube videos for getting my retro consoles onto my main tv that doesn't have either RCA or SCART, I needed a HDMI solution. The negatives they talk about in general for retro console to HDMI adapters are lag, and blackouts during a resolution change. I haven't experienced either of these. The image quality is as I expect it to be, not upscaled, and looking a bit pixelated on a 65" high end tv. These are games with low resolutions so of course that's what we should be seeing, and I'm somewhat nostalgic for those FF7 graphics. PS2 does still look fantastic though. You'll need a usb port to power this, it can be from a power brick like a phone charger if you are using a PS1, or just use a spare USB port on the PS2. There are 2 buttons, one is to switch between 720p and 480p, this doesn't seem to make a visual difference I notice, it's possibly more for TV's that may require certain resolution inputs. The other will switch between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios. One of the common complains I see for these retro console to HDMI converters is regarding games switching resolutions. Something like Dino Crisis or Resident evil for example will have a particular resolution during normal gameplay, then change resolution when you open a the menu, this can typically cause a black screen for a few seconds whilst it adjust to the new resolution. I haven't experienced this for any game that I have yet played. For the price, you can't go wrong if you need to get a PS1 or PS2 console onto a modern tv. I swap this between both constantly.
