Powerful, Quiet, and Built Like a Tank!
I’ve been using this DEWALT wet/dry vac since February, and it’s easily one of the best shop vacs I’ve owned. The suction power is fantastic—whether it’s sawdust, drywall debris, or water cleanup, it handles everything with ease. What really sets this unit apart is how quiet it is. The STEALTHSONIC noise reduction is no joke—it’s noticeably quieter than my previous vacs, which is a huge plus in a workshop setting. The build quality is classic DEWALT—sturdy, durable, and made to last. The 12-gallon capacity is perfect for big jobs, and the wheels make it easy to move around. I also love the onboard accessory storage and the easy-to-use drain for wet cleanup. If you’re looking for a heavy-duty, low-noise vac that performs like a pro, this is the one to get. 100% satisfied with this purchase!

Really quiet shop vac
Excellent shop vac. Surprised me with how quiet it is. Has a number of different attachments and suction is pretty decent.

I enthusiastically told my neighbor about it, it's great!
So this has a good vacuum hose size, while the unit is small and maneuverable. The bin for the vacuum is on the smaller size, but that's works fine for me. I use the DeWalt cyclone filter and find that it is more convenient to open/close compared to my old homemade cyclone filter, and it makes up easily for the small volume or the main bin.The only downside for some applications is that this does *not* have the bidirectional or normal exhaust/intake features to comparable shop vacuums. The exhaust has a muffler, and the overall design of the vacuum leaves it vastly quieter than my previous shop vacuums. Ok, it's not silent or anything, but it makes the vacuum process much more comfortable. It is possible that my experience with the vacuum is particularly positive because I have the cyclone filter in line, a paper bag filter, then the hepa-like filter for the main filter. I *suspect* this vacuum would lose power faster than a comparable not-quiet shop vac, if it's filters clogged up. The filters I have in line mean the vacuum has been working great with minimal maintenance!Having many parts to the system makes this a bulky shop vac setup. But it's not difficult to move the cyclone filter, vacuum, and tubes to another location in a workshop and connect to a tool or to vacuum a mess because the parts are individually smaller than a single big shop vacuum would be.So back to the headline. One day I started spontaneously telling my neighbor about this shop vacuum I love, *without* being prompted. Yeah, he was using power tools, but he definitively didn't ask me to talk about shop vacuums. that's when I realized I should write a review online

Almost bought a Festool
I was looking at higher end hepa vacs (Festool, Fein, Bosch, etc) and ran across this DeWalt Stealthsonic. For 1/2 the price of the others I not only got the DeWalt Stealthsonic, but the DeWalt 6 gal dust separator (DXVCS002), fine dust bags (DXVA19-4112 get them here on Amazon - best price), the hepa filter (DXVC6914) and some Impresa pool filter socks (great filter saver) for the hepa filter! This shop vac is every bit as quiet as a Fein or Festool. Suction is good with the hepa filter, and with the added dust separator and filter bag, I expect to experience very few filter changes. The dust separator is very easy to empty, easier than a shop vac and bag that for sure. The Shop vac came with a nice durable upgraded hose. The only draw back I can see so far is rolling around 2 units, but Im using it in a stationary position so its no big deal to me and well worth the savings. Nice work DeWalt!

Great Power and Amazingly Quiet!
Literally, the loudest thing about this vacuum is the sound of the air being sucked into the tool installed on the hose, and that's only a factor when using the crevice tool. The other tools, which don't restrict the airflow as much, make far less noise. It's actually possible to use it without any hearing protection and not do any damage to your hearing. My old shop vacuum seemed as loud as a jet engine, and I would never dare use it for long without ear plugs. This DeWalt is just as powerful as my old shop vacuum, but far, far quieter. I find myself using it more often because it's so much more convenient to use without having to find hearing protection every time I want to use it.The casters work well, the carrying handle gives you a secure, easy method of lifting the vacuum, and the bag is easy to replace. The long cord means I haven't ever needed an extension cord with this vacuum. That's a definite plus. All the tools and hose extensions fit in the easily removable storage bag too, so it's easy to take all the tools along with the vacuum or take them off if you need to access a cramped space. This vacuum came with the yellow contractor's hose. It is supposed to be more flexible than the usual black plastic hose, but it still tends to curl up, trying to return to its stowed position, and pulls the vacuum in a circle on a cooler day. That's annoying at times, but it's the only annoyance I've experienced with this vacuum, and has been an issue with every other one I had too.

Insanely quiet
Amazing vacuum, dewalt hit a home run. It is the most quiet and powerful vac I have ever used and I have used many. It craps on Milwaukee and every other brands vacs.

WOW! Shocking Improvement in Sound
I've been using (perfectly fine) 12 gal Rigid vacuums with dust separators in certain workstations (rather than a large whole shop dust collection setup). This has worked great functionally, but the vacuums run at about 82db. This is not an issue when being used at the tools as I am always wearing hearing protection anyway. It is however an issue for my roaming vacuum setup, which I use for general cleanup purposes. I saw a review of this vacuum and the claims of lowered sound, so decided I needed to try it out. HOLY COW! This thing is very quiet with the same power compared to the Rigid vacs. In my testing, this runs at 67db and is so much more comfortable to use for my general cleanup purposes. I whole-heartedly recommend this vac!
