My Big Story Bible: 140 Faithful Stories, from Genesis to Revelation

I’m impressed with this children’s story Bible. It’s not the Bible but key stories retold, by respected Bible scholar, theologian Tom Wright. It gives the sweep of scripture from Genesis to Revelation and connects Bible Stories of God's Faithful Promises. It includes stories not often found in children’s story bibles, making this good preparation for children who are not quite ready to transition to a “real Bible”. It even includes basic Maps to orientate the reader to where the events of the Bible took place. The text of each story is concise, faithful to the Bible text and very well presented, which is on the left-hand page and beautiful illustrations, relating to the story, taking one full page on the right. If you’re looking for a children’s story bible for aged 6+ (specified for reading age‎ 7 - 12 years) get this one! Thoroughly recommended.

Thank you Tom Wight for writing this book. It is beautifully written and has lovely illustrations. It would would be a good gift book. The stories have been carefully chosen to show how each one is important in the whole Bible. We bought one for one grandchild and having seen the book, bought another straight away for the other grandchildren. Having so many stories together, and showing how they are connected is so good. Highly recommended!

The simple, beautifully worded, wonderful story of the Bible, in one book - perfect for children and adults alike (I couldn’t put it down until I’d read through the whole thing!). The illustrations are fabulous too. Definitely recommend this for all the family! I also loved the cross references on each page - I’ve never seen this in a children’s book!

This Bible is stunning ! Gorgeous illustrations and Bible stories told in amazing way. My 8 years old daughter wants to read it every night so that’s the best recommendation for me.

As with everything Tom Wright touches, this hits just the right note. God’s story is explained split into the old and new testaments. The Bible is broken down into stories each a page long with strong bold images to accompany each part. The stories are linked back to where in the Bible they appear and scripture is echoed through the text. The stories come alive with speech and there are links to where else in the Bible the stories are referenced.
