Love the quality!

This phone case is virtually indestructible. I have had OtterBox Defender cases for all of my smart phones. I have never once had a phone get broken while it was protected by an OtterBox Defender case. That may not sound like that big of a deal but I travel a lot on business so my phone case tends to take a lot of abuse from airplane seat arms, rental car seat belt clips, getting knocked off of my belt, getting dropped various places, etc.If there is any shortcoming to the case at all it's that occasionally the clip will break and OtterBox does not offer a replacement clip/phone case holder so you have to replace the entire case when you just broke the clip. Over the last 10+ years I've only had this happen twice but it would be nice to be able to replace the broken clip/phone holder without buying the entire case.

I originally bought this case for $40 in 2018 at the same store I originally bought the phone, and rebought it here and now to finally replace it. Getting this now for $10 is absolutely worth it. TLDR; get this case if you want a phone impervious to fall damage.Within the first year or two of owning it, the outer rubber stopped seemlessly conforming to the phone/shell. I think that you can avoid/delay this from happening by refraining from removing your phone from the case. I liked to semi regularly take my phone out of the whole case to clean it, resulting in the rubber beginning to pull away. This was mostly a cosmetic problem rather than a practical one, though with repeated removal of the phone and regular handling it will become worse. What lead me to finally decide to buy a new one was that in the last six months or so the rubber had finally lost so much grip on the case that it would nearly fall out of it.The material on the back side of the phone, under/around the on/off button may also begin to peel, but more so as a thin layer on the surface of the case as you can see in the picture I shared. (I wouldve taken a picture of the phone in the old case but did not have the foresight to do so). I am not sure how long it took for it to begin to do this, but I think more than a year, and is natural given the amount of handling in that area.The hard shell inside of the rubber is difficult. It can be hard to open the clasps that keep it closed around your phone, and if you aren't careful and patient, you WILL break at least one of the clasps. I managed not to break any on this new case, but I broke about 3 of them on the original. Do not despair if you do break a couple though, as the other clasps along with the rubber shell will keep everything together.For $40 this was worth every penny, I have dropped and accidentally thrown my phone hundreds if not thousands of times on a variety of hard and soft surfaces. I try to be careful with my things, but I can be clumsy, and things happen. I have dropped this on its corners, back, and face, on concrete, asphalt, and every other kind of hard or soft surface you can think of. The ONLY time this phone has received damage was when it was NOT in this case, and when my cat stepped with her sharp claws onto the screen (as there is no screen protector). I love this case and will keep buying it as long as I own this phone.

Really does protect my phone

Good, rugged case. Typical otterbox quality, and I was not disappointed. My husband got this case (I got the Symmetry series) because he is more clumsy with his phone than I am with mine. It does make the phone a little bit bulky, but this is not uncharacteristic for the Defender series.Pros:Fits well: This fit extremely snug to the phone and there is absolutely no wiggle room, which is great during an impact.Stylish: It looks sleek on our black V30+. This could also be a con, if you wanted other colors, which I will get to later.Cons:Difficult clips: It took me almost 10 minutes to get this case apart. The clips were very difficult to get apart and I was afraid to use too much force since I did not want the clips to break. I managed to finally get them all undone with the help of a dime. I understand the clips attach the front of the case to the rear, but I wish there was a better system. I was getting frustrated with it.Lack of colors: Although the black looks nice, I wish there were other colors! Most other phones otterbox makes cases for have other colors, but I cannot find any for the V30+ besides black. This is not a huge con, as I understand their focus is mainly iPhone and Samsung, but offering a couple more colors would be nice.Long story short? We've only had it for a day so we really cannot rate it based on how well it takes impacts. If it is anything like my previous otterbox cases, it will handle them like a champ. It seems like a great case, albeit a bit bulky, but the clips were a little difficult to undo and it wouldn't surprise me if people have broken them trying to get them undone.

Otterbox has always been my favorite phone case manufacturer.Always a solid choice and a perfect fit.

I've used OtterBox cases for my phone's regardless of make and model for about 8 years. Why? Because it's never let me down. I'm sure there are other good protective cases out there, but why change if it works?This case is very comfortable to hold and allows for easy gripping. As a father of 3 and a tech savvy middle school teacher, I use my phone a lot around children and it's been known to hot the floor on many occasions. I never even look at the phone when I pick it up because I know it's likely unharmed.Unfortunately, there is no display guard due to the contour of the screen, but there are many options for those. The built-in screen protectors usually end up pretty cruddy behind the protector over time anyway.

It works as expected and I am happy!
