Fantastic knee brace for both before and after CCL surgery-good for ice packs too.
My Springer Spaniel-English setter mix tore her CCL on her right hind leg and is going for surgery in two weeks. The meniscus may also be involved as there is "clicking" when moving the leg. I wanted something to give her more stability until her surgery date so I ordered this brace. Once on the dog walks much better and is able to stand on her pad of that food instead of on her toes. She does not mind the brace being on at all and I think she almost welcomes it when we put it on. I went by the sizing chart and the fit is perfect. She is 60 lbs. and I got the large. I do find the back strap does slide because of her shape at times, but we simply readjust it and it stays for a while longer. This brace is well made, easy on and off and a God send for my poor pup.

Total failure. No real help.
Total failureLarge is too small, extra large is too big. Tried both original and with metal braces. Nothing fit. Returned 5 braces to show we tried everything. You MUST have a body halter to connect the brace to as it slides away in a minute. Sitting or lying down pulls the brace off the knee and does not snap back upon arising. This company makes very big braces but does NOT offer halters bigger than Large, an inch too tight for our girl. While wearing, the strap on the inside crosses the abdomen and up the opposite side so it can cross the back to velcro to the outside strap. The straps are too thin and easily curl up making a very thin strap cutting hard across your pups tummy. If you don't pull it TIGHT, there's no support whatever. I know it causes suffering. There are a bunch of very similar designs which all attach in a similar way. None will work without the halter attachment and even with it, the extreme tightness is just horrible. I've seen no reviews that mention this but it's a major concern. My advice is to go right for a custom brace if there is any serious injury at all. If you need a minimum amount of support and can access a halter and connector strap and you're willing to put the brace on any time the pup needs to walk, go for it. We wasted an enormous amount of time with this approach.. reading reviews in articles, etc., obviously written by ppl that never tried any of these. When choosing, keep your dog's comfort in mind as they are already in pain and struggling.

Quality is ok, fit not so much
The quality of the brace seems fine, think it would last for awhile. Unfortunately the fit, at least for a Boston Terrier isn't right. We measured several times before ordering. It is also very difficult to slip the brace over the foot and up into position. The strap sits against where the leg and torso meet and I think with wearing it for more than a few hours it would rub him raw and it doesn't want to stay up. Good luck with all of you trying to keep your fur babies comfortable 💙

Great, soft knee brace but not sturdy enough for perfect support
One of our dogs tore his CCL and PCL at the same time and it took a month before he could get his surgery. I was very worried about additional damage to his leg as well as the amount of pain he must have been experiencing, so I bought this brace after comparing several others to it.I have mixed emotions about this brace. It is soft and I assume that this makes it quite comfortable for a dog to wear (if they could tell us!). However, no matter how I pulled it up on his leg, it always seemed to give in and not stay put in the right spot. Teddy managed to slip his knee out of it repeatedly. I had first bought the brace in L, and then decided to buy another in M to see if it would work better.Unfortunately, neither one stayed up well enough to support his leg in the intended manner. I don't want to discredit the brace because I maybe I didn't get it on 100% correctly, but I certainly tried pulling it tighter and higher etc, but still couldn't get it to support the leg enough. I kept both braces because I am sure that they will come in handy if either one of my dogs will strain a muscle etc, or develop more arthritis in their legs as they age. I don't know if I would recommend this brace for a torn CCL injury, but maybe for something less severe.

This is the one to buy!
Please read this even if your dog has a small leg injury, it is a warning of what could happen, and how these braces are really great. Initially my dog tore the cruciate ligament in her left rear leg, I wish I would have bought a pair of these then. She was getting laser treatments, to help the healing process, but one day she took off running after a chipmunk and ruptured/tore completely both rear leg crutiate ligaments. She couldn't move more than two steps on her own (she needs surgery and just the surgery consult is 3 weeks from injury date, surgery is between $3,000-$5,000 per leg)for first 4 days she was unwilling/uncomfortable to go pee or poop, I was SO worried, how will we make it to surgery. We tried walking her with a towel around her abdomen, I got pee smelling spray to help her want to pee, I tried pee pads, diapers, trying to express her bladder, nothing worked. The first braces(also for sale on Amazon, Labra stifle brace, more expensive) did not fit her well at all, and the metal braces poked her when she sat, in my opinion they are too complex to be a somewhat universal fit. I immediately ordered these OrtoCanis braces, right away the fit was great I could tell it really supported her legs, the way they wrap on her was great, I did run some extra Velcro straps up to her harness to keep them on better. She started being able to walk around the yard and was comfortable enough to find a spot to pee and poop. Now I am confident we will make it to surgery without and other complications. I really believe even if your dog has injured one leg you should buy one for the other side as well, any support will help to prevent what happened to us, and if you're dealing with what I am these braces will help! Keep your dog close/on leash until it is completely healed. It's been very hard to watch my beloved/healthy dog become imobile, and it is going to take some money that I don't really have to get her well again, but thanks to these braces I have hope we will get through this.

Won’t stay on
This unfortunately keeps slipping off. I have a very large dog, so maybe that is why.
