Fit 2012 Passat TDI perfectly - bolts can be modified easily
For 2012 VW Passat TDI - The product looks great - certainly better than the shameful plastic garbage VW provides. I bought a separate filter because I was not sure if it came with one, but that was unnecessary. The bolts were the same thread pattern but different drive (10 mm vs triple square of the originals). Also, the bolts were a few mm longer than the original. I ground them to size and they worked just fine. No need to buy extra bolts if you feel comfortable grinding down the bolts.

Great and improved replacement compared to oem
Solid metal construction. Hopefully this won't fail like the plastic around the internal wall holding gasket in place like the oem. This DOES come with the replacement gasket and new bolts. However, the bolts are not the same tripple square heads and a tiny bit longer with a semi pointed end. I was careful not to strip my original screws so I reused them after cleaning them off really well. All that to say I'm not sure if the provided screws are quality or if they fit right on my 2014 VW Passat TDI. The replacement part itself however, was a perfect replacement. The screw on top is different than OEM. The gasket o-rings are a tighter fit thus screwing it on is tighter. Same 25mm head to the top as OEM so I already had that socket. Nice. Under side of top is also NOT attched to the pin/arm that goes thru the oil filter on the inside. So the function is the same but logistics of how ya get there are different. All in all, no leaks after install and much cheaper than even auto zone, rock auto, advance auto.

Worth every Penny
Best upgrade for your car and so much better than the plastic replacement parts from the dealer.

Just Swapped it
PSA if you have a TDI Passat, mine is 2013, you need Triple Square screws 8mm for the 4 main bolts. The top right one when looking straight at it is a garbage angle even if you take the liquid cooler out. I stripped mine drilled into (not much thank god) and finally used hammer to tap it and it locked in and came out. So be aware of that one. Otherwise, hopefully it works out for you all.

Get it
Seems to be a problem with the stock one leaking oil after so many miles, mine has a 100k miles then started leaking. I didn't like the idea of getting another one that will leak in the future so I bought this and glad I did. Quility was great so if yours starts leaking get this.

Absolute JUNK
The media could not be loaded. At first I thought it was gonna be a good purchase. It looked well built and I installed it on my 2013 Passat tdi. I drove the car around town about 10 miles then the next day my granddaughter drove it on the interstate for approx 25 miles. She called me and said her car was making a noise so I told her to park it and I went and loaded it on a trailer. When I got it home and started checking it out I took the oil filter out and it was full of metal and the brand new oil smelt burnt. So this cheap fix for an expensive VW part is costing me over $2500 for a used engine. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS !!!!!!!By the way one star is the least I can give won’t allow me to leave no stars!!!!!
