One of the best lock
I bought this lock after doing some research, and I'm really impressed with its durability. The steel cable adds an extra layer of security, which I appreciate. I also like the frame-mounted bracket—it rotates 360°, so you can adjust it to the most convenient angle. I chose to mount it on the rear triangle of the bike frame, and it fits perfectly without interfering with the bottle cage space. Its light enough when i consider regular ebike weights.

Bought for my child. Great, but bit heavy
**Bike D-Lock Review**This is a very strong and sturdy D-lock, offering great security for the price. It feels solid and well-built, making it a reliable choice for locking up a bike in high-theft areas. However, it is quite heavy, which might be a downside for some riders. That said, the durability and protection make it worth it if you don’t mind the extra weight.

Nice D Lock and cable - works nice together!
Quality D Lock, nice engineered key and precision made. Good Keyhole cover and well built lock. The additional cable is nice to have and helps those awkward times when your D lock just isn't long enough to secure the bike, and then cable can snake through rails and the bike stand to add that extra protection and security - Nice! Good solid design!

Mini size is a blessing and a curse
The Kryptonite Evolution Mini-7, bundled with the 4-foot KryptoFlex Double Loop Cable represents a compelling compromise between security, portability, and versatility, though it's not without its trade-offs.The U-lock itself is the star of the show. With a 13mm hardened steel shackle and a double deadbolt design, it's a formidable deterrent against common attacks like bolt cutters and leverage-based twisting. It holds a "Sold Secure Gold" rating, which is a key benchmark for many insurance companies and a reassuring sign of its protective capabilities. The "mini" size is both a blessing and a curse. Its compact dimensions make it lighter and easier to carry than its larger siblings, reducing the burden on your commute. Furthermore, a smaller shackle leaves less room for a thief to insert a pry bar, making that type of attack significantly harder. However, this also means it can be challenging to lock to certain bike racks or street furniture, especially with bikes that have wider tires or frames. This is where the included KryptoFlex cable comes into its own. The 4-foot cable isn't designed to be a primary deterrent—it's easily defeated with a determined thief and a pair of cutters—but it's a brilliant solution for securing your wheels and seat. The U-lock can be used to anchor the frame and rear wheel to a solid object, and the cable can be looped through the front wheel and then back to the U-lock. This gives you a comprehensive locking solution for all the vital (and expensive) parts of your bike. The cable essentially turns the Mini-7 from a single-point lock into a full-coverage system. The package also includes a FlexFrame-U bracket, designed for mounting the U-lock directly to your bike frame. While a great idea in principle, some users find that the bracket can be a bit flimsy or prone to rattling over time. A common workaround is to simply carry the lock in a backpack, or to use the U-lock hooked onto a belt loop, which is a popular method for mini-U-locks.In summary, the Kryptonite Evolution Mini-7 with the KryptoFlex cable is an intelligent and versatile purchase. It's not a foolproof, "ultimate security" solution against power tools, but for the majority of urban environments, it offers a high level of protection and the flexibility to lock your entire bike securely. It's the perfect middle ground for the cyclist who values a strong primary lock but also needs the ability to secure their wheels without a heavy, cumbersome chain.

Good quality trusted bike lock
Used this lock for a couple of years now and it has never let me down, perfect size to fit round near enough everything you would want/need to lock your bike to. Not the lightest of locks but solid build quality adds to the security and trust of the lock. Would recommend to anyone who frequently looks their bike up for long periods of time through out the day.

Fantastic lock - intimidating to thieves
Recently had my bike attacked by thieves and the only parts that were left behind were the frame and handlebars - the ones protected by this lock. Its mere presence seems to be enough of a deterent to put off thieves from stealing the secured parts. So now I just need to make sure that I remember to use the cable to secure the wheels and I might have a chance of keeping the whole bike next time!

Good size, secure lock
This is my 3rd kryptonite lock, I'm happy with it. The cable is handy (though can be cut of course) for places where you can't get a good locking position but ideally it's there to protect your wheels and you should try to lock the *frame* to something solid. (Side note: I passed a front wheel locked to a railing the other day where they'd used a similar cable to hold the (now stolen) rest of the bike. DO NOT DO THAT! :))It's one of the smaller locks, which means a lighter lock but not TOO small, it's IMO just right if you want a lighter D lock. I've also a small abus 640 (which is a great lock as well), this one is just that little larger though which just make a bit of a difference in certain situations.I've noticed it can seem a bit fiddly to lock BUT it's because it LOOKS like I've closed it properly, but I haven't and it's my fault, you just need to be careful to get it seated correctly, and not panic and try and force the key!
