Doesn't work
you can barely hear your own heartbeat let alone the baby. I’ve tried it at different stages of pregnancy and doesn’t work.

Disappointed
Bought this for my daughter and her boyfriend, so they could hear their son’s heartbeat. They were so excited and couldn’t wait to open the box. Unfortunately / sad to say, even after following the directions provided, it did not work. Waste of money. Very disappointed.

Doesn’t work
I’m 22 weeks and still can’t hear a heartbeat with this thing even though I’ve obvious been able to confirm a very fast and healthy heartbeat at ever doctor’s appointment.

These take SKILL
I am a midwife and I use these type fetoscopes exclusively for clients. It does work and its completely safe, unlike a doppler which has high EM radiation. However, it takes a level of skill which requires time and PATIENCE. Its easiest to listen after 20 weeks for the layperson and you need to orient yourself to where your baby is and what position baby is laying in. The first thing is to find the babys back which feels like a narrow board, then locate the head which will TOGGLE back and forth if you cup it and move your hand, last thing is the butt, which will not move independently so trying to cup it and move it makes the rest of the baby move. When youve located the back and head you can figure out about where the heart is and listen in that area. Keep in mind the end piece is DIRECTIONAL, like a satellite dish. Point it in the direction you need to zone in on and BE PATIENT. A babys heart is faster and sounds like a ticking watch. Also make sure the ear pieces are pointed forward in the direction of your ear canals. Many make that mistake and cant hear anything at all. Time and patience win the race. YOU CAN DO IT!
