Excellent Screws - Tips Included In Review
These are well made and good value fixings, and they come from a British company that I trust. They drive in smoothly and the special bugle head (wide and shallow in profile) sits flush with the board face without bursting the board, which will happen if you try and use a normal wood screw.They are shorter than the usual plasterboard screw at 25mm, making them ideal for fixing plasterboard onto battens over solid masonry walls. They're also handy for not driving too deep into studs and going through pipes or electrical cables that may have been threaded through the centre. So they're generally very useful on walls, in my experience.If you're sheeting a ceiling, use a longer screw for greater pullout resistance, and space them at no more 8 inches. TIMCO sell those also.TIMCO was founded in the British city of Chester, in 1972. They now sell a wide range of fixings, and I've always found them to be reliable, which is why my toolbox is full of them. Five stars from me.
