I get really fed up with smartphone apps that immediately want to collect unnecessary data from you, that insist on sending you intrusive and mostly pointless push notifications and making you watch irrelevant ads every time you use the app. I wanted a good quality, easy to use way of recording my steps per day without any of the fuss. The Hearkent Pedometer watch is the perfect solution.I am a shade over 50 years of age and am certainly not a novice when it comes to technology. This watch is definitely not just for older people. It looks fresh, smart and modern on the wrist and is no bigger than the average G-shock style watch, of which I have many. The quality of the watch and strap is very nice and for the price, I'd say it is excellent value for money.The display is very clear, easy to read and simple to understand. I love the minimalistic design which is very modern and fresh against the swathes of overly complex watch faces on the market. There are enough functions to suit the vast majority of users - time, date, stopwatch, count-down timer, alarm and pedometer which includes distance and calories burned. Each function is easy to use with simple and positive buttons.The watch is delivered in 'battery-saving mode' and when I activated the watch by simply holding two buttons together for a few seconds, I found that the watch was already at the correct UK time and date. Brilliant. I have noted that some reviewers have expressed slight disappointment in the accuracy of the pedometer as they believed they were unable to set their height during the initial set-up. You can in fact do so, albeit it doesn't explain how to do it in the instructions! I researched it before I purchased the watch and found the solution from a You-Tube video in America. The solution works for the watches sold in the UK too. You simply hold down the 'Light' button for a few seconds to enter 'set-up' and scroll through 24/12hr and Date settings until you reach a setting with reads 'cm'. You can then set the watch to record in metric (cm) or imperial (in). The next screen allows you to set your height and weight. Entering that data ensures the watch is accurate for your stride length. I am 6ft and I checked the accuracy of the watch by counting my steps manually as I walked over successive distances of 50 paces, 100 paces and 200 paces. The watch recorded those numbers very accurately indeed so I'm happy the watch does its job very well.Overall I am very pleased with this watch. It does exactly what it's supposed to. It does it very well and without the fuss, sync issues, constant recharge and intrusion hassles that irritate me so much with other supposedly more advanced solutions.Whether you are a complete tech-phobe or are like me (technically minded, use computers, smart phones, gaming consoles, fly drones and use other tech) and want a straight forward no-fuss solution to counting your steps with a nice watch, I would have no hesitation in recommending the Hearkent Pedometer watch. The Hearkent Pedometer watch is a breath of fresh air in a market full of 'smart fitness watches' that are actually anything but smart and that require constant maintenance, syncing and correction when they stop working as they should.

Easy setup, easy to read, it looks relatively modern and not too large on my wrist. I might be a little too sensitive as it will record steps when doing other activities, I did a couple of hundred hanging my washing out. However when walking it seems to be pretty accurate. Absolutely love this watch, it keeps good time and also counts your step, the best thing is you do not need to keep recharging your watch or even connect to your phone or WiFi. You can also read the time, date and number of steps with ease as it has large numbers and also when it is dark it has a light which switches off after a few seconds.Excellent price too and would definitely recommend this product.

Watch as described. You might need someone with nimble fingers to set it up. but good when going and good tutorial on the selling page.

Seems to working well, the only thing I would say I think it calculates your steps in tens or twentys rather than each individual step. Oh and the strap does fall out sometimes with movement of your wrist.

This feels like a good solid watch. It's quite chunky, which is fine, but it isn't heavy, and it has a good, clear display. It is also very easy to use. As far as I can tell the pedometer is quite accurate. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Great value for a simple watch and pedometer

Good all round watch other than you cannot get replacement wrist bands for it due to the way the watch face buttons are configured as an integral part of the watch. If you think you will want to be able to change the band in future then one of the other models is probably a bet. Nevertheless, the watch does as it says and is clear and to date, accurate. However, their customer relations people are dreadful to deal with, speaking little English and demanding all sorts of details that older people may not readily have, or know where to get - positive discrimination towards older people in my experiences.
