Augustinus Bader The Shampoo & Conditioner Duo (Travel Size)

A nice non-lathering shampoo.

Although it is a rather expensive skin- and haircare line, I have been purchasing the full-size of the shampoo and conditioner for some time now. The duo has completely transformed my dry hair! It has become more easily manageable and I no longer add a ton of other styling products. It would be great if the travel size could be refilled yet it's great that it's available nevertheless.

This was an 'ok' experience for me. Why just ok - here are my thoughts:- I have almost to the shoulder length hair and it took a lot of product to get into it all.- the shampoo was a bit runnier than I expected it to be. My first wash really would not lather at all - second wash did - but by this time I had used a lot of product in total.- It does rinse out nicely and my hair was literally squeaky clean.- The conditioner was much thicker, but again, I felt like I needed more product than I typically use with other brands- I think it is supposed to be fragrance free- which is absolutely fine by me...but it does a have a little strange smell out of the bottle. (But the smell does not linger on your hair post rinse)There is nothing "wrong" with this pairing - but I had to give it 3 stars because at the price point (for a travel size, no less) I expected much, MUCH more wow factor. This was just a good shampoo. No more, no less. There are drugstore brands that are just as good for a literal 10th of the price.

Since this is a travel size set I can't really speak to how the products work on hair over time, but I can speak on what I experienced during the few uses I got out of them. I wasn't aware of Augustinus Bader before receiving The Shampoo & Conditioner duo, but based on the price I could tell they were high end. I was very excited to see what scent the shampoo and conditioner were since it isnt listed and I could only describe it as a woody (not woodsy) scent. It reminds me of dark chocolate slightly, not a cocoa scent but the woody smell that some dark chocolate has. Its definitely more of a masculine scent than a feminine scent in my opinion. It doesn't stick around long, once I rinse my hair I can't smell anything anymore, which for the price I would expect my hair to smell like heaven. This is the main reason the product isn't getting 5 stars from me. I don't know what "TFC8" is but it seems to be what sets their formula apart from others. I do appreciate that these products are suitable for all hair types and says it aids in keratin production. The shampoo did give me a squeaky clean gentle cleanse and the conditioner moisturized my ends well. The consistency of both was thick, as expected from a luxury hair care brand, and both lathered/distributed nicely. It's on par with other similar brands that I've tried, I just wish it had a nice scent to it.

First of all, this shampoo conditioner set doesn't have a strong smell. It hardly has a smell. I love that because I find most shampoos and conditioners give me a headache and my children have sensory issues. Next, this shampoo feels clean on my hair. As in not heavy. The conditioner works well also not heavy on or off. The results feel soft and not weighted.

Trial size/travel duo. A very nice uni-sex shampoo and conditioner set, that carries a light fresh scent that is hard to place. Lather free shampoo that is weightless, leaving no lingering residues, formulated to nourish and hydrate, which I appreciated as I have a typically dry scalp, and I noticed that it didn't feel dry or irritated, which is common when I try new things. The conditioner is also of the weightless variety, and I liked that it didn't feel heavy or full of residue afterwards. I'm very pleasantly pleased with this duo, and how it worked well with my medium straight hair.

Overpriced nonsense I fell for.

This is an okay shampoo and conditioner set. It's travel sized. At the time of writing this, it's $40 for a travel size! The shampoo is a clear, thin gel with no discernable scent. The conditioner is a thick, white gel with a very slight wax scent. After rinsing, the conditioner left my shower floor slippery, so be careful. The shampoo has a medium lather, and neither affected my hair color. It seemed like a very basic shampoo and conditioner set. But man, for $40 for only 1.7oz of shampoo and 1.7 oz of conditioner, I expect this to style my hair and tell me how pretty I am.
