Double the fun! : )
Great product, heavy duty, do season it!I suggest if using over a campfire, that you find a good Y stick and make a hole in the ground to rest it on as you flip for heating both sides. They are smaller than bread pieces, but you can work it out, putting what you want on it. So many cooking ideas to invent.

Starting the fourth generation making the original camp pockets.
This is something we always used while I grew up, and then my kids while growing up. Mine finally wore out after forty something years. I was so happy this was heavy like my old one. The price was right. It's built to last for along time. I like that the irons come off and separate for ease of cleaning. This is easy, simple and fun to use. Very easy to use over any fire too. Now I have one to use with my grandchildren, and start the next generation on the original camp pockets. I bought my son and his partner the double one. Can't wait to use it now 🩵

Good product for the price point
Great price for a double and seems to be a pretty good casting, feels pretty heavy. My only complaint is the handles arrived tweaked a tiny bit and are flimsy for the weight of the cast iron.

Good Camping Tool
Needed this to use with my outdoor themed church kids' group. Good quality and not too heavy for the kids to use over the campfire. Good purchase. Expect it to last a long time.

Cast iron camper pie maker
This makes the nicest camper pies I have ever seen! No flimsy non-stick aluminum - this thing is made from cast iron! It was a little tricky getting the bread to fit inside, but it was well worth the effort once I seen the finished product. I made Reuben sandwiches and the design sealed all the good stuff inside a pocket sandwich! You can use it over a campfire or cheat a little and use it on your cook stove!

Love using these over the campfire. They work wonderfully, just like when my kids were little!

Rustic Charm, Frustrating Functionality
Coghlan's 2044 Cast Iron Double Camp Cooker promises rugged, campfire-ready cooking, and in that respect, it delivers. This double-pot setup, with its sturdy cast iron construction, certainly feels capable of withstanding years of abuse. However, the "easy" part of the equation is a significant stretch. Three stars feels appropriate, acknowledging the cooker's resilience while acknowledging its significant usability shortcomings. The primary frustration stems from the design. The nested pots, while space-saving for packing, are a nightmare to clean. Food inevitably gets trapped between the pot and the lid, requiring a Herculean effort with scrubbing brushes and potentially steel wool. The tight fit also makes filling and emptying a challenge, especially when dealing with boiling liquids. The cast iron itself is a double-edged sword. While it retains heat incredibly well, leading to efficient cooking once it’s up to temperature, it takes an agonizingly long time to heat up initially and cools down just as slowly. This makes precise temperature control difficult, leading to occasional burnt or undercooked food.Despite these drawbacks, the Coghlan's 2044 does manage to cook food. It's a truly effective vessel for boiling water, stews, and other hardy campfire meals. The robust construction instills confidence, and the patina developed over time adds to its rustic charm.Ultimately, this cooker is best suited for experienced campers who prioritize durability and don't mind investing extra time and effort in cleaning and temperature control. Beginners might find the challenges overwhelming. If ease of use is a priority, you might want to consider lighter, non-stick alternatives. But if you're looking for a durable workhorse that can handle the rigors of the backcountry, the Coghlan's 2044, despite its quirks, might just be worth the struggle.

Makes great smores
Bought this for a gift. It's so easy to use and clean. It heats up on a fire or grill which is neat. It can be used for almost anything, simple design makes it easy to use from a burger to vegetables and pies. Heavy so may not be easy for young kids to lift
