Not having owned any of these independent pool vacuums before, I tried a cheaper one first. It was a nice idea, but didn't handle climbing well. Back it went and I got this to try. Wow. Big difference. I have a small, older, kidney shaped pool and this does a beautiful job keeping it clean. I've been impressed with what it picks up in the fine filter bag. It get leave and such easily, but also collects an amazing amount of dirt, sand and grit. It also does a surprisingly good job on climbing the wall. It chugs up, hit the air, then falls back to the floor and starts over again. It's mostly silent and is easy to charge. Once charged, just put it the water and turn it on. It does the rest. I've used it a lot for the last month and it's holding up well. I would recommend tying a rope with a floater to it as I find that a much easier retrieval method than the included hook. It's a bit of a lift to get out of the water when it's done cleaning. I find it works best if I move slow and let it drain a bit, but it's fairly light to handle once the water's out. Overall, it does a good job and is so much easier than vacuuming, particularly with an old system. It's been kind of a godsend for me.

I needed a pool vacuum upgrade bc the one I have was starting to loose its suction. I wanted to try a total different vacuum and I'm so glad I did, bc I am obsessed and love this vacuum! Its such a time saver bc I can turn it on, let it do its thing, and move onto something else while I wait for it to finish cleaning. The suction on this vacuum is great, it picked up my kids plastic fake jewels and those things are not super small either! It's very durable and not much bigger than the vacuum I already have. Just a great pool vacuum overall! Ohhhh and it comes with a floating divice so if it stops, or get a stuck in the middle, or if you don't want to reach for that vacuum hook to fish it out you can just pull that cord to you and pull it right out. I recommend this one if you need a new vacuum!

We have a 12' 6" x 38' rectangular, in the ground, concrete pool. Because it is in a screen cage, we do not get a lot of leaves or debris but we do get the occasional earthworm or millipede and dirt and sand get through the screen with every rainfall. We pay a service to clean the pool weekly, but I love using this pool vacuum in between his visits and am impressed with how much sand and dirt, and yes even creepy little crawlers it finds on the bottom of the pool. I was worried about this purchase because the product info and even Rufus said it was for above ground pools only. Don't believe it. Check the videos others have posted. This works perfectly in our pool and does the entire bottom on one charge. I am so glad I took the chance and bought this. It is affordable and performs perfectly. My only heads up would be to be sure to read the directions. Put it into the pool and let the bubbles escape before you turn it on and likewise, turn it off when the charge is expended. If you plug it in to recharge it but forgot to turn it off, you will get a blinking red light suggesting you forgot to read the directions.

I've tried many ways to clean the bottom of our above ground pool and I've not been happy about the outcome of those, so I figured I'd give this a try. Besides being cute to watch he's pretty handy. Just drop him in and watch him go. My one concern were the wrinkles in the liner. None of them were an issue except one but to be fair this wrinkle is the biggest. I just nudged his behind and he kept on going. I would go out there and check on it occasionally just to be sure it didn't get stuck, but it only happened that one time. This has helped save me a good amount of time. Seems very sturdy. Opening it up and getting the dirt out was quick and painless as well.
