Works well
Bought this due to high phosphate in tank. A bag of this last 4 + days. Then you change it out to keep it going. This reduced my phophate levels drastically

Got rid of my diatoms
I’ve been struggling. Despite RO water and new salt, couldn’t get rid of the brown algae in my sand. Changed this phos guard weekly and in about 2-3 weeks, sand is clean! Somehow I had silicates!

This stuff is amazing!
I had a horrible diatom issue due to my substrate. Took about 8 days, and the diatoms were all but gone. Used it for another week, and haven't had an outbreak since.

Does it work? You betcha!!!
These are before and after photos of how well this product works after 30 days.My 200 is showing signs of overstocking as my little fish are growing up. Phosphates were through the roof no matter what I tried. This product helped bring them down to zero, so I just reduced the amount I use until I get it to a minimum amount.I’ve only used in a saltwater tank, so I’m not sure how efficient it is in fresh tanks. This and adding additional mechanical filtration does the trick!!

This stuff works. Ignore the negative reviews online.
After reading all the negative reviews online about the Phosguard causing problem by leaching Aluminum into the reef tanks, I was very hesitant to use it. I have leathers, frogspawns, torches, zoas, and mushrooms in my tank. Had some hairline algae growing from a live rock that I had placed in the tank. The API phosphate test kit said my phosphate was zero, but since the hairline algae was present I knew the test kit just couldn't measure the phosphate that low. I placed the Phosguard in a bag with the RECOMMEND amount for a 30 gallon tank. So far I can tell that the nuisance algae is a lot less and it's only been 3 days. I am pretty sure the people having issues with this product are using the wrong dosage and adding too much. This stuff works so well at dropping the phosphate that you can shock the coral if the phosphate level changes to quickly. I have also noticed that the corals are doing better now too by opening up even more and the torches are extending even further.

I love phosguard
I have a salt water aquarium and it dies hell drastically reduce phosphates you must consistently change the media though. But it helps you stabilize for sure!

Diatom help plz
I’ve been dealing with diatoms and while they’re not catastrophic, they look gross in my otherwise pretty betta/shrimp tanks.I just added this today so can’t speak on the results, but want to add that the media is very small (a tiny bit larger than those tiny spherical sprinkles), so be sure to have a very fine mesh filter bag to put it in.You only need 1/3 cup of Phosgard per 100 gallons of freshwater, so keep that in mind so you don’t accidentally buy two lifetimes worth of it like I did.

Stopped algae growth
Phosphate beside of too much light is a main reason of algae growth. There are tons of similar products to remove silicate and phosphate, but I like aluminum base rather than iron. So decided to used this and worked very well. Just rinse carefully because it makes milky water for days if don’t do that. Also as manufacturer said don’t use in some kind of corals which are sensitive to aluminum, also if use any phosphate buffered freshwater.
