It adjusts to raise and lower the cutting blade so that it forms a flat smooth surface, so minimizes the risk of cutting yourself while getting it out of the drawer\cupboard.The Julienne feature is only useful on its largest setting to me, but it is useful. Carrot\Apple matchsticks are easy!Safe when in storage, effective and safe in use. One of the better ones.

Purchased this for my wife who was fed up with getting cut by some of the cheaper models. This is more expensive than most others but worth every penny. It is super safe to use and very easy to change settings. Got my brownie points for the year with this one.

Birthday present for my husband. He loves it but the julienne carrots are a bit small. Not sure yet whether I can put the whole thing in the dishwasher.

Really pleased with this. I've heard so many horror stories about mandolines being dangerous but this one isn't at all as it has a blade safety lock and hand guard and is very easy to wash. 3 grades of slicing and 2 julienne thicknesses. Quick and easy, makes potatoes dauphinoise a doddle. strongly recommend.

Really good product. Easy to use

It's a very complex machine on the underside so very difficult to clean. At best rinse instantly after using. The blade looks slightly bent and is straight not v-shape. The slide on the side is difficult to slide, especially with wet hands. Next time I would buy the Oxo version for 20 pounds, with v-blade. Oxo also has a lovely hand-held julienne slicer which works like a potato peeler. Much handier to be honest.

I had high hopes for this, don't get me wrong its not a bad piece of equipment but I was stupid to pay the price of £29.99. The gap adjustment for the blade very flimsy apart from that its made pretty well. Have got another one that does more and a 3rd of the price, shop around first!

Only used it a couple of times so far, but very impressed.No faffing looking for blades or attachments, very safe to use design.Used a few of the V5 style mandolines in the past, this beats them hands down.Just need to see how it goes in the long term.
