Truly saved me after surgery!!!
I was headed for a surgery that required very strict after care....no 90 degree bending (only 30-60), which is required to sit on a regular toilet. We got a bedside commode, but found I couldn't get off of it without bending. I tried to get off the toilet with help--- on one leg--- and hurt my ankle and foot badly. So that was out.Fortunately, the physical therapist I saw pre-surgery, listened to my plight and told me that some of her patients had ordered a power lift toilet. I thought it was too expensive. Then, I thought again. My son came and assembled this WONDERFUL power lift toilet commode, and I instantly knew that this would make toileting possible (along with standing and using a female urinal). It has been a GODSEND!!! And it helped us skip over the awful experience of having to empty someone's bedside commode (that I couldn't safely use). This power lift toilet commode is worth its weight in gold. You have to recharge its battery, and yet it works on its own for hours. I always want it fully charged so it will work when I need it.The one thing I wish the manufacturers would do is make the 'on-off' buttons less difficult to push. They are hard to push, and with me trying not to bend while using my walker before sitting down, this has been quite difficult. Also, it takes huge strength to plug in the battery pack to the cord that is plugged into the wall, and to then re-attach the 'pack' to the toilet lift. Way too hard!!! And it's difficult to do while standing one one leg when I'm supposed to use one arm on the walker. Please make both of these easier!!!!

I'm 6 feet and the lowest setting is just about right for me
I bought this for my THR last week. I wasn't sure if I would be able to maneuver in the bathroom easily with a walker. After doing a little rearranging I can get in and out okay. I'm actually using this as a chair to sit in while watching TV/eating. I didn't really have anything that was high to sit in, so figured why not?I'm now a week post surgery and haven't had any problems getting up or sitting by myself. I did put a thicker pillow to sit in, but I don't think that would even need to be necessary. The contour of the seat is pretty comfy.I have yet unlocked the arms and tried to catapult my way out of the chair. When that time comes I'll come back and edit (if I even remember). The only minus I could think of is for shorter people. It may be a little too tall.

Does not work and is dangerous (UPDATE)
Can get electric seat to work so I unhooked so it could at least be used but when you push on handles to get up the seat comes up and arms tilt forward. Not a problem unless you are 89 years old and a little unstable. In that case it creates a fall hazard. Dont waist your money. I sent a message to the seller and have not heard back from them. (Never heard back from the company. Their customer service is as bad as their product. A shame a company like this would sell a defective product for our seniors. I purchased another brand that works correctly and is safe. I highly recommend you do not waste your time and money with these people, as they do not care about customer service or quality.

Seat rates 4 stars. Chair is a 2
The seat is wonderful. The chair not so much. So this is a two part review. The seat performs exactly as described. It’s very comfortable, it does provide the lift promised and the clips are easy to lock and unlock. The materials are easy to clean but cleaning the underside is a task. We are very happy with the seat part as it allows one assistant rather than 2 and alleviates strain on the assistant’s back. The chair ….its well made and easily assembled. But it was not suitable for us.. It does not have a foot rest so you have to get a separate one which increases tripping potential. it came with a pail and a sleeve. We haven’t figured out what the sleeve is for. The pail ejects automatically when you move to the toilet if mounted from the front, which is nice. The pail handle gets in the way when trying to empty it - not so nice. But our biggest issue with the chair is that it is immobile. So, do we buy a 2nd one for the shower? We bought a different commode with wheels, footrest and handle bars and welded the premium health seat onto the frame of the 2nd commode. It’s almost perfect after 2 adjustments. I would not recommend this approach as the structure and measurements of the 2 nd chair have to align perfectly. We did a lot of testing to ensure stability etc and who knows how long the welds will last. However, the Frankenchair has been a back saver and eliminates all the transfers between bed, toilet and shower. But it was expensive. Incidentally, the seat, arm rest and backrest of the premium health seat are vastly superior in comfort and ease of cleaning the material than the 2nd commode. Hopefully the company will continue to upgrade the chair to address the deficiencies since the seat lift itself is amazing after more than 6 months use.

Excellent for those who have trouble standing
I purchased this for my elderly father who lost a lot of strength during hospitalization. We had a regular bedside commode and that was a nightmare to get him up from. My husband and I were killing ourselves having to lift him up from it.I knew there had to be a better way and found this. I was hesitant because of the price, but decided to bite the bullet and get it anyway because our backs were becoming injured. This was a game changer for us. I can now get my dad up from this commode, by myself.Best of all, i can see my Dad's getting confidence in being able to get himself up from a sitting position, without needing 2 people to lift him up. It's a very gentle rise, so there's no need to worry about dad being spring loaded into the wall.Unfortunately, the seat is built more for a woman's anatomy. And if stool gets on it, it's a pain to clean it off. Have fun scrubbing! But, overall, I consider this one of the best investments I've made, for taking care of my dad.
