High Speed Digital Design: A Handbook of Black Magic (Prentice Hall Modern Semiconductor Design)

Best begineer text book for introduction to high speed designer
Possibly the most recommended and talked about text on high speed digital design ever written . Helped me consolidate theory I learnt in my MEng EEE and apply to real designs in work.

Excellent reference book and designer's checklist
This book is simply excellent. I never really got to grips with analogue design or electromagnetic theory, but an understanding of these is becoming critical in high-speed digital design. This book was a God-send to me. It explains everything you need to know, in simple terms (including the equations when appropriate) and includes checklists and solutions for a designer to refer against. Termination, effects of vias, routing, power and ground planes, measurement techniques, noise pickup, e-m radiation etc. etc. are all covered. If you are in any way involved in design, layout or analysis of digital designs which operate at 20+ MHz, then this book will become your standard reference. Having got it, I don't know how I survived without it.
