If you have knives that are made of good steel you need a tungsten sharpening steel
If your knives are of high quality steel i.e. superior hardness, you need to be touching them up with a steel made of tungsten. Most of the sharpening steels out there are made of a cheaper grade than your knives maybe be made of, which means you're using a product that isn't as hard as the steel you're intending to put an edge on. This sharpener, made of tungsten is the real deal. As soon as you start touching up a knife with it you can tell that the steel is harder than the knife and is not going to give in or wear out anytime soon. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on a real sharpening steel and keep your edge on the knife longer before you have to have it sharpened using a stone.
