KalloCorn Cakes - 130g (Case of 6)

These have a great flavour but they're a bit chewy.
I've tried Kallo rice cakes (being a bit of a rice cake enthusiast), and I like Kallo as a brand, so I purchased a couple of packs of these corn versions to try.The packs are standard as you find for most rice cakes; a plastic wrapped stack tied with a metal folding tag. The cakes are easy to pull out from the packet without breaking the edges off (pet hate). You don't need to tear the plastic wrapper, making the pack easy to reseal.Use-by is May 2021 on this batch so I would feel confident in a long use-by date if placing another order. As you might expect, these are much more like popped corn snacks (think wotsits without the cheese). The flavour is really very nice. There is a much stronger flavour than you get from the delicately flavoured rice cakes, and these corn cakes are nice with a variety of toppings or even with just a smidge of spread. The saltiness is subtle and well balanced. The only disappointment from these is the texture. They are less crisp than rice cakes, kind of chewy with harder pieces of corn in them. They also stick wonderfully well to the teeth. I felt that this was a slight let-down, especially as the chewy hard lumps of corn weren't too great to chew on. They were almost soft and stale textured, as if I'd left them out opened on the side for a few days. The flavour was not a stale one though so I assume that's the texture of a corn cake!Would I buy them again? Yes, I think the flavour makes them worth an occasional lunch or snack, but I think I prefer the humble rice cake for their overall crunchy and light texture.

great taste
This is brilliant snack for any time in the day or evening. It is light, not salty or sweet, probably great for diabetics. I love it as it is but you can spread on it or even have a piece of ham. It is the best one of this brand. Like it so much it will be ordered monthly.

Corn cakes are fine. Amazon packaging awful.
Corn cakes are fine. I buy them all the time usually from supermarkets. I will go back to the supermarket because of Amazon packaging. My corn cakes arrived in an absolutely enormous box with the 4 packets of corn cakes on the bottom and filled with plastic bubble wrap stuff on the top only. No protection underneath the cakes. Some are crumbly but not all luckily. I’m also now left with a huge box to dispose of. I thought Amazon had stopped doing this buts it’s creeping back. I had another smaller box delivered at the same time also containing some rice cakes and other small items. Everything would have fitted into the smaller box. I am complaining on the product review because I’ve given up trying to find a place on Amazon to complain.

To chewy ,not fresh or crispy
Sorry but these are worst corn cakes I ever had . Taste like they been sitting in a damp room for to long ,like opened packet of crisps sits for to long and texture turns softish and terrible . Chewy ,not light and crispy like you would expect . Flavour is fine ,but texture is appalling.I also tried kallo rice cakes ,blueberry was fine ,light and crispy ,but apple and cinnamon had similar problem ,like they were kept in damp storage room and texture turned funny . Wouldn’t purchase again. Great price though ,good taste ,pity texture is bad .

Great battery life!!!!
Amazon is asking me to rate the battery life out of five on these rice cakes, what donkeys!Anyway they are good value, cheaper in the shop, but if you’re lazy like me you’ll get a pack on subscribe and save, bot of chutney, and cheese on that. Occasionally a slice of onion or half a tomato.
