Simple and straightforward to assemble, a blessing during summer!
I've bought a few fans over the year and not been satisfied - some were too loud, some were not powerful enough, some broke down fast, however this fan purchase has been the best one so far.The assembly instructions were easy to follow, it took less than 15 mins (if that even). The power of this fan is strong, it somehow feels like it is blowing cold air towards you even during a very hot day (something I found that other fan brands struggled with as they would generate warm air instead). As for noise, I would say despite the size of the fan, it is quieter than other fans I've had. Whilst it is not completely silent, it is soft enough that it just becomes gentle background noise.Best of all, it looks great too! The black finish and the wood effect makes the fan look high quality.

Impressive quality
Really solid fan with a heavy metal base that protects it from being toppled. Which is important, because I knocked our previous fan over whilst trying to move it, and it fell apart when it hit the ground. This one is far more stable: assembly was easy, though care still has to be exercised. It looks attractive with the wood effect stand and blades, and even on the lowest setting it pumps out an impressive indoor blast. Good range on the "air-spread" setting, too. It's quite noisy in the bedroom at night so we've purchased small bedside fans and will keep this one in the lounge. To sum up yes, its a lot more expensive than the cheap, rather flimsy models at the budget end of the market, but money well spent, I reckon because it should last. Disappointed to note, however, that whilst the words "Russell Hobbs--a British icon since 1952" are emblazoned proudly on the box, the fan was in fact made in China.

Beauty and function! One brief assembly hiccup.
I confess I bought this because it looked so damned good, and I had the benefit of a few Amazon customer reviews- all good. Item was delivered in a day. When we assembled it- we found the securing cap already fixed on the motor rod- and tried as we did, couldn't seem to prise it off, so we could attach the fan blades, as we obviously needed to do. The cap had a coin like slit in the front and we tried screwdrivers and coins- no luck. It had arrow marks and writing on it to say 'tighten' and 'loosen'- but which ever way we turned the rod rotated with it. The instruction manual had diagrams of parts and assembly but nothing on this particular tight cap. Finally, not wanting to damage item in case we had to return it, I called Russell Hobbs helpline. A couple of minutes way- and an helpful chap answered. He confessed it was a fairly new item and he would have to ask a technician and ring us back. Thankfully, by the time he rang us back ( and he rang us within an hour)- somehow with more twists- counter-clock wise twists this time- we managed to prise the thing off!! The rest of the assembly was easy. Can confirm with the others- it has both beauty and superb function. At the lowest speed it provides enough coolness on the hottest summer day of the year so far. Haven't had to try the higher speeds yet. Plus it is very quiet. This will have to be a very important deciding factor for many, if the fan is next to the TV, as it is in our living room.As for its looks, it is exactly as in the pictures- just super design. They call this model SCANDI, and I can see it looking quite at home in a modern Scandinavian interior (which ours definitely is not!). We bought the black and wood finish model. I'm guessing the white and wood version looks just as cool! One reason for me writing this review- to say how impressed I was with the Russell Hobbs helpline- in spite of the fact I bought this off Amazon via a private seller (Electrical Shop). I had wanted to buy a fan from a recognisable name, and really glad I did. If they can make decent kettles, I thought, they are likely to make a decent fan. Plus the price point (£60.00) was not dissimilar to other makes. It comes with a 1 year warranty but if you log on their website and enter your model's Serial Number- you can extended the warranty for another year. Therefore another strong incentive. Wish now I had also ordered the Russell Hobs table fan too instead of the Oypla I had ordered at the same time.

Keeping Cool in Style: Russell Hobbs RHMPF1601WDW Pedestal Fan Review
I've been using the Russell Hobbs RHMPF1601WDW Scandi Electric Pedestal Fan for the past two weeks, and here are my thoughts:Initial Impression:Setting up the fan was a breeze, and it looked quite stylish in my room.Noise:The fan's noise level is not so disturbing. I can easily tolerate it, even during nighttime use.Quality:The fan exudes a premium quality feel. It's well-built and seems durable.Weight:It's not overly heavy, making it easy to move around the room as needed.Stability:The fan offers good stability, which is essential, especially in a household with kids or pets.Settings:One minor inconvenience is that the speed control is located at the back of the fan, not in front. It would have been more convenient to have it upfront. Also, having only three speed settings might limit customization for some users.Airflow:Despite the minor quirks, the fan delivers a strong and satisfying airflow, keeping me comfortable even on hot days.Pros:Stylish and premium design.Tolerable noise level.Good stability.Strong airflow.Cons:Speed control at the back, not in front.Limited to three speed settings.Note to Manufacturing Team:I would suggest considering moving the speed control to the front for added convenience. Additionally, providing more speed settings would enhance the fan's versatility.Overall, I'd rate the Russell Hobbs RHMPF1601WDW Scandi Electric Pedestal Fan at 4.3/5. It's a stylish and effective fan with a few minor improvements that could make it even better.
