Like:1. Its a different novel for Tamil as it is about a tamarind tree.2. Without getting into rights and wrongs it tells the petty politics in a village.3. The novel is more than 70 years old. Its story is appealing today.Dislike:There is slackness in the story at certain locations.

The story of this book is good but vattara valkku use panadhala padika konjam kastam ah irukum.And it will take time to read and understand the dialog and the words used.decent novel with good story. not recommended for new readers.
