Great hat
I bought this hat to wear hiking. I don't like the sun in my eyes, so I wanted something with a brim. I tried a couple of other hats that I have, but they were too hot on humid summer days. This hat is much cooler. It is light weight and can be somewhat shaped. It would protect you from rain as well, and I can stuff my hair up under it to keep it off my neck or get it out of the rain. I like the khaki color. The shape, style and color look like the perfect hat for hiking, fishing... anything outdoors. I tried a couple of cheaper hats before settling on this one, but none of those worked out like I wanted. This one was worth money and it has a lifetime guarantee too. It is unisex and looks great on both men and women. They are actually sized, so no matter how big or small your head is, you can get a good fit. They are easy to clean too. Just dunk it in a sink full of water and wash it with your dishwashing liquid, then set it out to dry. All around a great hat, or should I say it's a dilly of a Tilley!

High Quality, Great Product.
This is a high quality hat that fits well (actual hat sizes, not s m l), effectively blocks the sun (spf 50), stays on (two strap systems) and is adequately cool in the hot sun.I have purchased many hats over the years (will never consider LL Bean again) but have never found one with this quality, fit and functionality. The toughest decision after I decided to buy a Tilley Hat was which model. This various "5" models were the size and style that I wanted, but determining which of the many materials was a challenge. I suspect that I would be extremely happy with either the cotton, other nylon or hemp models as well.If I should choose to purchase additional hats (not commemorating a team or achievement) it will probably be another Tilley. The cost is higher than most others, but you get what you pay for, and then some with this hat.

Lightweight and cool
I got the khaki color to reflect the sun here in florida. I've been wearing it in mid 90's sunny days, it is cool and comfortable, no build up of heat like with my boonies. I think the comfort is because the mesh let's the heat heat out as much as the breeze in. My hat was in a box the size of the hat. Great lakes outpost

Appears to be outdated version.
It should have more space inside between the top of your head the inside top of the hat. Tilley makes great hats. this one just doesn't fit the specs published on Tilley's website for this model.
