Yum! Eat More Cherries!
My wife and I live in Washington State. Cherries are abundant during the summer but my wife won't eat them with the seeds within them. Therefore, I purchased the Squeeze2Pit Cherry Pitter tool to help boost the domestic consumption of cherries due to my wife now eating them. The tool is of a highly polished, heavy-duty, chrome construction and very easy to use. It locks when not in use by manually placing a latch over the catch on the other handle. This is an excellent safety feature in the event someone too young to use the tool gets their hands on it. The extractor (cylindrical extension at the end of an arm) removes the pit every time. Occasionally a pit will hang from the extractor but pitting another cherry with it often knocks both pits out. Still, it has never failed to move the pit either completely out or at least in easy view for removal. This is important when pitting a lot of cherries as I don't want to worry about biting into a pit. I hand wash it in order to maintain the highly polished finish. It is very easy to clean.

BEST PITTER ON THE MARKET ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
Just received " 3 " Squeeze2pit cherry pitters- awesome product just finished pitting a pile of cherries very fast and easy !!! It's nice just popping them into your mouth without worrying about pits - bought one for my brother and the other for our daughter she has a 5 yr girl and twin 4 yr old boys who eat tons of fruit especially cherries. Now it will be nice not to worry about swallowing , biting into or having pits stuck in their throat. Well built item, very sturdy and quite easy to use- well worth every penny- this by far is the best cherry pitter on the market- if you could rate it higher then 5 Star I would shoot it up to a "10"-- looking forward to a summer of PITLESS CHERRIES !!!! Highly recommended ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ

Nice tool, but...
Clean, robust tool thatโs super easy to clean. I wish the design had a little more โthrowโ so the handles didnโt need to move so far, because larger cherries are difficult to get into position without physically opening the handles wider than the spring does. The real disappointment is that the pit plunger is off-center from the cherry holder, causing the pit plunger to โmissโ the pit on about 25% of the cherries. Iโm gonna try to tweak it in a vise to see if I can line up the pit plunger with the cherry holder a little better by slightly bending one or both โscissoring armsโ, hopefully without damaging the pivot.

easy to hold
I bought this to replace the counter top one I had purchased before. (that didn't work)I have to say this pumps them out just as fast as the other one and I can position it where I want. Not to much juice splatter, easy to hold, and the spring reopens it efficiently which is a bonus for anyone with arthritis or other hand issues. I sat down and did 10 pounds of cherries quite quickly.I do wish the handle had a texture or a rubber coating because they do tend to slip through your hands after a while, but that is not a major complaint. The item actually works and quite nicely. And it is of nice sturdy manufacture, which is important to me. I don't want to pay for something that is flimsy and not comfortable to use and feels like it will not stand the test of time. If there is a con to be had it is that you end up with a flap on the back of your cherries because the pit is forced out in such a way that it makes a rather large flap hang off the back. For me though making a pie or jam or freezing for smoothies, it was not an issue. Also with a smaller cherry you may not have the issue, I was using big bings, which also could be why upon occasion the pit was too large and got stuck in the back of the pitter. But again that was probably because of the size of cherry. Over all I would recommend this to someone looking for a good quality cherry pitter. It is worth the price I paid for it and I would purchase it again

Love the High Quality
I got the idea from other reviews that this was a high quality product, and when it arrived, I am pleased to say it is high quality and a joy to use. It's the start of summer now, and I've been through lots of cherries already. The guy who developed this, Sheldon Clark, went to the trouble to explain why he had it built it so nicely. It's one of those specialty items in your kitchen drawer that you will truly enjoy using when you have the occasion to do so. The rod that pushes the cherry pit is a bit longer than other similar products, and the cup has a hole in it just the right size to hold the cherry in place while it is being pitted. The pitter is made out of high quality metal and reminds me of a nice tool you would find in a toolchest. Even the spring mechanism and the latch on the ends of the handles is well designed. It's not too large nor too small. When you go to pit a cherry, it is prudent to do it in a sink and with the hand holding the cherry, wrap your fingers around it to contain any little splatters of cherry juice. Really, when using it I thought about a splatter guard, but like a good tool, like pliers, you just have to be cognizant of what you are doing. Definitely a kitchen tool that everyone in my house likes to use--adults and kids. If only all kitchen items were built so sturdy. It seems like an item that will last forever. I paid full price for it and would do so again.

Did not work for Castelvetrano Olives, just smashed them to mush.
Bought this full price and am returning it right away. Looked nice-ish enough but when I put in my Italian Castelvetrano Olives in to remove the pits it obliterated them...juice squirted out everywhere and I was left with pits covered in olive flesh and mushed up unrecognizable olives. These are softer olives then spanish olives so maybe for cherries and harder olives it works but not an overall olive pitter.

This cherry pitter makes us so happy! I bought this for a great price on a Lightening Deal, just to have something to put in my husband's stocking, and we have used it every single day since then. I never knew what a difference a cherry pitter could make! It is super fast, very well constructed and sturdy, and really easy to use. My 5 and 7-year old children fight over who gets to use it ... so I might have to get another one... Sometimes it's the little things in life ... this little guy is awesome.
