Don't tangle and stay in your ear!
I bought these earbuds for two reasons; I wanted to try the 'no tangle' promise and the 'stay in your ear claim.'I usually can't wear this general type of earbuds because they won't stay in my ears. For years I've worn the iPod original type but those seem to be getting harder to obtain and most of the ones by other manufacturers, such as the Sony MDRE9LP earbuds, have an L-shaped plug-in to the iPod. I put my iPod in my pocket which seems to stress the connection, causing static and the phones to fail shortly after I buy them. So..these earbuds...So far I'm very happy with these earbuds. They truly don't tangle which is on the plus side. On the down side, the wires are slightly heavier and more cumbersome than regular earbud wires but not so much that it matters (in my opinion). The wires plug straight into my iPod which eliminates the static and premature failure due to the wires breaking. Most important of all, these earbuds stay in my ears. The reason these earbuds work where others haven't is two-fold. First, you are supplied with three sizes of cushion (versus two for most brands) which allows a better fit. Second, the slight cock in the angle of the buds as they fit into your ear also greatly aids in making them feel more secure. I find the sound quality excellent although since I'm listening to audiobooks, I can't speak to their musical qualities. These earbuds cost significantly more than regular earbuds but are worth it to me because I can wear them. All the cost savings in the world don't matter if you can't use a product. The no tangle feature is excellent too, no more picking at tiny knots while swearing under my breath at how in the world two earphone wires can get so tangled when I just took them off for a couple of minutes.Bottom line: probably not for everyone because of the price but worth it to those who hate tangled wires or can't get regular earbuds to stay in their ear.About a month later: Just want to add an addendum to my review: although I still like the earbuds quite a bit, I have found that the earbud tips fall off with ridiculous ease. I listen in bed to audiobooks at night and in the morning, I can expect to find one or both of the earbud tips in the sheets. I've already lost one tip (the earbuds come with 3 sets).

These really are tangle free
I've had about 10 pairs of earbuds ranging from free to about $45.00 a set. My favorites to date have been my $20 set from Brookstone, but I like the cable on the Zipbuds much better. The sound quality is a little bass heavy but very clear overall and I have to give big props for the zipper. I intentionally threw them into my purse without wrapping them around anything to see how tangle free they were. I carried them around for the better part of the morning while digging around my purse for keys, gloves, train tickets, lip gloss, etc. When I got on the train I pulled them out and only had to extract them from my gloves but they were completely untangled. I like that the non-zipper part of the cord is fabric wrapped so even that won't get tangled. The earpieces are pretty comfortable, I've only worn them for a few 1.5 hour stretches so far but since I have some Bose noise canceling headsets, I pretty much wear those for any journeys longer than 2 hours because in-ear earbuds give me ear fatigue after about 2 hours. But I prefer the small earbuds for short trips when I'm only carrying a laptop bag and space is at a premium. I recommend that you get some of these for 3 reasons: 1 - they DON'T tangle, 2 - there are lot's of color options, and 3 - Very good sound. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because the sound is very good, but not great, BUT for a $25 price range there are very few that are better and NONE that are as tangle-free. Even a set of fabric wrapped earbuds I have get tangled, the zipper makes a huge difference. Enjoy.

BEWARE Ear Plastic Piece Falls Off
Original review below. I just knocked off a star because the soft ear plastic piece constantly becomes detached and falls off. While you don't spend a few minutes untangling the headphones - you do spend a few minutes digging through your purse looking for that ear piece.I really liked the headphones. The zip idea is cute and works well.In comparison to my Bose HeadphonesBose - price about 100 - quality of sound - good to great - comfort - good, very comfortable and easy fit - quality of build - goodZipbuds - price 25 - quality of sound - not as clear as Bose, but in no ways a bad sound quality - louder than Bose - comfort - very comfortable, I can't feel the buds in my ear - wire is the heaviest piece, you can feel wire - quality of build - good (we'll see if it holds up for a year or more) - wires are a decent thickness

So far, so good
I really really detest tangling earbuds when I am getting ready to walk out of a building to go catch the train and so often I find myself cursing, I also do want a high quality sound, or at least one that blocks out most and also has a high volume. I didn't realize this, but my best friend has these and likes them well enough although he listens more to podcasts and I listen mostly to music. For my purposes they are awesome. A little stiff because of the zipper, and you can "hear" them against clothing because of the non "rubber" composition of the body of the wire. These come with a straight jack not an "l" shape, but I don't plan on working out with them so not sure how that will impact me (not quick sudden movements to pull it out of the ipod). For now, this pair is a reasonable cost for the luxury of no tangle, and the sound is decent- I am using the largest of the 3 sizes included. I also like that these are plainly and largely labelled left and right although the angle of the bud gives you a bit of a hint which goes where (this also provides for a better fit in the ear canal). I'm not an expert (I usually get the $6.99 ones made in China) so a little bit of a leap of faith. As I get more into the life of them I'll let you know how it goes. I got the cute pink color- very girlie!
