Never thought I'd need these...could easily sink a full bottle in a night. However since child... I now need to sink 1 and a half bottles..... Therefore these are great for the second half.

I have an old set of wine sealers and thought these might just be an upgrade on the old ones which have several ribs on the funnel part that goes in to the bottle. Well these new ones are useless. They do not fit any bottle properly and when you take the air out, they work for a few minutes then you can simply remove the stopper and hear no suction whatsoever. You may as well not put them in to stop aeration. I have thrown them out and will search for the older style I have used for years with perfect success.

If I could give these stoppers 10 stars then I would. I use them for storing many liquids, distilled water, wine, edible oils, etc. Once evacuated, the bottles retain the vacuum for weeks, months even, but only if you are eclectic when choosing them. Not all bottles are the same, and the ones I have found to be most suited are Kopparberg drink bottles. If I am storing left-over wine, I always transfer the contents to one of these bottles. The wine will keep at least a month. I test anything I bottle every few weeks by attempting to remove any air, but the stoppers always 'click', telling me that every thing is OK. Buy these with confidence.

The mister and moi have been enjoying many an afternoon with The Wine Show or the Oz and James Wine series. In order to fully immerse oneself in the fun, we feel it is only right to have a number of bottles of wine open at the same time. We now spend an absolute minimum of £10 per bottle (didn’t have kids, didn’t want them, loaded), and these wee vacuum stoppers mean we can compare our Californian Zinfandels with our Chilean Carmeneres, safe in the knowledge that none of the bottles will lose their oomph. A must-have for wine devotées or lushes. Fums up.

Need to be used with the pump which I bought previously. I needed another stopper for 2 bottles of wine on the go - white and red - these are just right. Great for keeping opened bottles of wine from going off. Can be used in any wine bottle of standard size, including champagne. I didn't need the 6 in the pack but I guess it's a good excuse for opening more bottles!
