The map is big, and made with good and resistant paper. It looks good no matter from where you are looking at it. It is not negatively affected by having the light turned on in the room. So, no annoying reflections.It came in a heavy plastic tube, and well protected.It looks great on the wall. Guests coming in are attracted by the map, and always stop by looking for places and sharing their stories. I spend quite a lot of time looking at it and dreaming of future trips!It is very detailed, and accurate, with easy to read fonts. Not only cities and major roads are reported (anyway, it is not a road map). Parks, peaks, lakes, and other features are also included. It covers all the USA (Alaska and Hawaii included). Part of Canada and Mexico are also included in the map, with the same details of above. It also provides geographical information (latitude and longitude) to easily locate places on the map.A great "must" if you like travels, are curious about learning more about geography in the States, want to plan for a road trip or a vacation, and have enough space on the wall!

My mom's vision isn't great and she wanted a big map to look at with her magnifying glass. This is perfect.

Awesome map. I bought this spontaneously in an urge to have a large map in front of me. It was just what I needed. About 6' by 4' . displays many cities, small and large. Perfect for classrooms or travelers.Amazon delivered as always on time and in good condition.

First, this thing is very large - 4 x 6 feet. Heavy duty paper, shiney, but non-glaring, finish. Arrived without a bit of damage, well packaged in a heavy plastic tube inside a sturdy box. Since it is heavy paper, it is not hard to manuver dispite its size. It's an attractive wall hanging. Very detailed, but remember it's not a road map, major roads only. The type is easy to read without reading glasses. Our driving limit is 500 miles at a stretch, so this full size map makes it easy to rough out a cross-country road trip without having to flip pages or use more than one map. It is also interesting to see where stuff is relative to the rest of the country and our home. If you like geography, maps, or travel, and you have a large space on the wall, this is an asset.

Map huge and fascinating - got to me in good condition. But where is the famous route sixty six I wonder? As someone living across the pond America has always had a romantic fascination for me due to the stories of its pioneer days and all the wonderful culture that has come our way from that direction. Looking at this map, so many of the features resonate with meaning. I can hear songs in my head conjured up by the very place names. The sad thing is that I don't think any railroads are marked. Where are the railroads that opened up the West and appeared in so many songs - have they all been closed down? Anyway, this was really worth buying.

This map is awesome! It's huge and fairly detailed. It doesn't include small roads or anything but it does have interstates and major highways.Let me clear something up, this map is NOT laminated. The people who said it is clearly don't know what lamination is. It is on thick durable poster type paper and has sort of a semi-gloss to it.If you want to color this, good luck. While it does hold sharpie marks well, they do take some time to dry. A highlighter will take a couple weeks to dry.

I bought the map to help plan a cross-country motorcycle trip. I mounted it on cardboard so I could use push-pins to mark places I want to visit and possible overnight stops. It's perfect for this purpose. I would also be useful for frequent travelers to pin places they've visited or would like to visit.
