Had previously bought another donut ring, self inflating, plain plastic one from CVS. Paid more and only lasted three days before it deflated itself. :( This one has a nice material cover, so the plastic doesn't make you sweat on hot days. You can inflate as firm as you want. I'm a sailor and damaged my "tail bone" because someone left a forward hatch open during the night. Bad damage to my spine. I use this cushion most everywhere, but especially (1) when flying commercially, and (2) daily, at my work desk. I expected it might last a year, but I've been using it daily for almost 4 years! The key, I discovered, is to inflate with just 4 or 5 breaths -- just enough so there's a THIN layer of air between me and whatever chair I'm using. Doctors can't fix my injury, but this cushion provides a HUGE degree of comfort.

The cushion seems to work well. Just wish it was a tad larger in diameter and easy to deflate. I can’t imagine being able to deflate this easily to take on a trip. My suggestion would be to inflate the cushion in stages to get the firmness you need. It you inflate it at 100% it takes too long to deflate it so it would be better to inflate it in stages and then test it out.

I bought this pillow for my wife who suffers from pain in her bag and she couldn't set on the floor for a long time while she takes care of our child. I have to say it was very helpful, comfy, and released her pain but, unfortunately, its not durable at all. It just like any balloon that you can loos very easy if it hits a tiny straw or any other similar object. I highly recommend manufacturer to work harder to improve this important feature.

Update: customer service seems great although product is not. I am on my second cushion in about 3 months. My first one started deflating one day when I was sitting on it, I contacted the company and they issued a refund. I decided to try the product again in hopes that it was maybe a fluke thing and it has happened again. I have had this cushion for maybe about a month. original review: The cushion is great so far. It was super easy to set up and I bring it almost everywhere. I noticed an immediate difference in my tailbone pain. Now I am almost pain free! Great product with a great price!

After using it 3 times the area aroud the small (3/4 inch) area to inflate got a hole. I tried Shoe Goo on the hole but it still did not work I prefer the ones you can blow up. I tried later to put it in water to see where the leak was and no sign of a leak. But it still went flat. I was refunded the money and will try a different one.

I use this for tailbone pain. It works great in a chair and in my car. I recommend this cushion for tailbone pain.Update: I love this cushion for comfort. It is easy to transport from house to auto etc and the price is reasonable, however after using it for 22 days it deflated ( received it August 1 deflated August 22) I pumped it up and it deflated again so the cushion is not economical after all.

I really liked this donut for postpartum but after 1.5 weeks there was a hole in it. It helped my tailbone from a previous injury. I didn’t inflate it fully and it still got a hole.It might be good for occasional use but not multiple times a day.
