AvonSkin So Soft Original Bath Oil Bonus-Size (739 ml 25 fl.oz.)

I've been using Avon Skin-So-Soft oil at the beach, in the woods and on my deck for 30 years. It's the best for me. Yes, it's oily. Yes, it doesn't last as long as approved insect repellants. It has no irritating chemicals. It works. Mosquitos and sand fleas stay away. Now I know SSS isn't and cannot be advertised as an insect repellant, and Avon has another product in the line with some kind of added chemical that they do market as insect repellant. Ignore that. Get this. Avon has produced a gel form with original scent that works, but the tube is badly designed. It's difficult to get the last 2-3 ounces of gel. That's a lot. I've had to cut the tube open to use it up. They need to redesign the packaging. They also make a lotion version. It also works, because it's the same scent that biting insects dislike. I'm not crazy about it but it's better than the scent of any standard repellant. It also works better and the smell is less revolting to me than other pricey brands of organic repellants. YMMV. I dislike artificial fragrances, and don't use them in cosmetics, laundry products or household cleaners. This one doesn't bother me. (No idea if it's artificial or natural.) One caveat. It only works about 45 minutes. I carry a one oz. plastic bottle in my pocket if I need more. My dog hates this stuff and runs away if I try to put it on her. I see mosquitos landing on her, but she takes a monthly pill to protect agains heart worm, which is mosquito borne and deadly to dogs. I believe mosquitos also carry tapeworm. And there are parasites and diseases that humans can get via mosquito bites. This is not an FDA approved repellant. I would call it a home remedy. I haven't used it in the bath, but applying it to exposed skin before going out keeps me from getting bitten. If I walk out on my deck in the evening for a minute to water plants without SSS or protective clothing, my exposed limbs will be dotted with mosquitos in seconds. I would be a banquet for mosquitos without this. I will not use universal insecticides whether mechanical or chemical. My yard has an ecosystem and I am not going to kill beneficial insects or those that are food for birds and wildlife.

Have always liked Skin So Soft-it’s a great product.

Great product and fast delivery. I live in a very dry area and this helps to make it more comfortable.

A few drops mice with your lotion will keep all insects away from you all day.

I purchased it as a mosquito repellent, but unfortunately it doesn’t work like it used to.
