Worked great
This worked great on my old PS2 as a SATA adapter no complaints 5/5.Not related to the adapter, but if you have a full-size 3.5" SATA drive, the drive should not move around inside the old PS2 too much, but if you have a smaller 2.5" drive, then you'll need some kind of adapter so it doesn't move around. I ended up printing a 2.5" SSD holder I found for free on Thingiverse / Printables, but I'm sure you can find them on Amazon too. I have been using it with the ExFAT version of OPL (AKA: Grimdoomer OPL) and it works great paired with the 8BitMods MemcardPro2 with GameID.

Breathe new life into the greatest console of all time!
I had purchased an old fat PS2 back in 2003 as a graduation gift to myself, since a used one was only a few dollars more than a DVD player and I didn't have one. I got the fat PS2 specifically because they were cheaper and I wanted to modchip it.I never got around to modchipping it, and due to life circumstances, I had to put the thing in storage. My games were stolen, and you can't find PS2 games for cheap anymore at Gamestop and the like, so it just kindof sat there.I came across a youtube video randomly about how you could softmod your PS2 using the old network adapter and an IDE hard drive, which eventually lead to me discovering this. I bought this and a basic 500gig hard drive and went to work.My god, this thing is incredible. Setup was a little wonky but there are detailed walkthroughs online on how to format the hard drive to work with the PS2, and how to program it. I've put a hundred games on it from my childhood and it remains a permanent fixture in the living room hooked up to the big TV and my roommates and I play it several times a week. Get yourself component cables (or a PS2 to HDMI adapter), a few wireless controllers, and some large capacity memory cards and you're good to go.One of the best things about the PS2 community is that nearly every PS2 game has patches you can apply to their ISO files in order to give it true widescreen resolution. It was crazy playing the OG Kingdom Hearts and Budokai 3 with a widescreen aspect ratio. So yeah, it took 15 years to get around to doing it, but I finally got my PS2 modded! That being said there are a few issues to be aware of.-The thing doesn't sit quite as flush against the back of the PS2 like the network adapter does.-The screws are plastic, but easy to turn with a coin-The SATA connector feels a bit flimsy. This isn't the fault of the design, as there aren't any rails inside the PS2 to keep the hard drive in place and there's enough room for it to shift. Once you install this, avoid moving your PS2 as much as possible because the hard drive will have give and it can put extra stress on the SATA connector.-This version does not have the fake network port on the back, but the plastic has the stamp for it - for some reason, it was never cut out. Not that big of a deal but I would have preferred either a fake network port for aesthetics or nothing stamped into the plastic at all.Overall, if you have an old PS2, this is the perfect way to revive it. I've fallen in love with that generation of gaming all over again.
