This is a great fender.
This is a great fender for the price. It is simple and effective and a good alternative to the big fenders that are out there. The plastic feels tough and durable. It was easy to install and holds quite rigid. I have a Trek Marlin 4 and I use it primarily for distance and fitness rather then extreme terrain. I do a fair amount of trail riding but I have not been able to take this fender through any sloppy paths just yet. I may update this review once I have a chance to ride through some muddy trails but my initial impression is that this is a quality product. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple fender at a decent price.

Quality product for the price. Easy to install. Be Creative.
Excellent product for the price. I rode some pretty muddy stuff this past weekend and this thing saved me from being covered in mud. I put this is on the front tire of my hardtail after cutting off a majority of the front hood. I cut off more than the recommended lines on the bottom side of the guard, starting just inside the last hole for the ziptie attachments leaving only 3 total holes on the guard. With only 3 holes available, I ziptied the right two holes to my fork and I liked the look a lot better than if I used the standard attachment process without losing hardly any range of protection. I recommend that if you buy this product you really think about your needs and use your creativity to customize this guard to your needs. For my use the full guard was way too much and honestly I didn't like the look. I cut it down once and attached the guard and I still didn't like the look, before making my final cuts and reattaching. Overall this is an excellent product. They are cheap enough to order a couple to experiment with as well. Just remember, make small cuts until you get it just right. If you over cut, you can't re-add length. haha.

Good Front Guard, useless as rear, have spare zip-ties handy.
This works well for a front mud guard on a fat bike, running 4" tires. I noted the dimensions of many similar plastic flexi mud guards, and this one had the longest overall dimension, and I think it was worth the effort to identify that extra length. If you look at tires 27, 27.5, 29, fat, whatever, and note where the mud will likely be spitting up at you, you will quickly recognize that a piece of plastic sticking back 4 or 5 inches from the front fork is not going to keep much of the muck off of you. Mounted properly, this guard gives full 8" of coverage behind the fork. I nicked it one star for two reasons, mainly because 3 of the zip-ties were defective (no "grabber tab" in the slot). I mean, I know it's a cheap product, but c'mon, really? I didn't happen to have any handy, so, with a half complete installation of a twisty piece of plastic, I couldn't use the bike until I went and bought some zip-ties. Second, there is no clarity on this in the description, but it is pretty useless as a rear mud-guard for most bikes (look at the photos other reviewers have posted, where it sits down in front of the rear wheel). 90% of the mud and water has already launched off the tire and up your back before the wheel gets to that position in the rotation. I'll be trying one of the seat mounted guards for the rear. This Fifty-Fifty guard is doing a great job as a front guard for our winter/spring trail conditions in Wisconsin. The fat tires really spit a lot more than traditional mtn bike tires. You get dirty - part of the fun. It's still dirty riding, but I don't have to literally eat the tire spit for the whole ride, as I did without a guard.

It's so big! Definitely made for disc brake bikes.
I bought a different version of this from a different company a while that came with two instead of one and wasn't too impressed. Those were pretty small. Not this one though! It's definitely a decent size. I agree with another review who put their's on backwards intentionally on the front part of the bike, it definitely covers more to prevent water from splashing into your face.I actually only got this fender because the other front fender that I got doesn't cover any part in front of my bike fork. This was definitely close to ideal. I say "close" because I have v-brakes and these fenders are definitely not made for v-brake systems. Fortunately, my front brakes don't work regardless and since my rear brakes work perfectly and I've never had an issue with stopping, looks like I'm keeping my front brakes broken so I can have a really good front fender system.Highly recommend, especially if you have disc brakes. It's easy to put on, very durable, and decently big.

Simple and does its job
A simple solution for keeping mud etc. out of my rear suspension pivot points. Works as intended.

Lightweight and inexpensive fender option that is great for MTBs with full suspension
This would have been 5-stars except for the horrible instructions and lack of product photos they provide.I am using these on an e-mountain-bike with full-suspension. The mud was getting a little intense!Pros:- Reasonably easy to install- Light, durable- Zip ties are fineCons:- Difficult to tell which is front and back, when mountain in front or rear of bike. No idea if I installed them correctly.- Instructions don't even show how they fit on a bike. They literally don't have a picture of a bike in the manual.- No photos of how these look on a bike in the product description. The customer reviewers are providing more informative photos than the manufacturer!- These are a VERY tight fit with some rear suspension systems. Mine is closer to the tire than I really feel comfortable with. Not sure if this will become an issue or not. There's not a lot of alternative mounting possibilities given the design.
