absolutely beautiful
What a romantic book.. it was perfection. The type of book I can just fall into. Cal is the epitome of tall, dark and handsome. A somewhat jaded man not looking for love until Layla comes into his world and knocks him on his butt. This book was just so warm and cozy I have missed books like this. It even has quite the spicy kick too.Plot 5⭐️Spice 3.5 🌶️Ending PERFECTION 5⭐️Overall 6⭐️I loved it!

precious
This was a precious book, I’m glad Layla & Callum had a beautiful ending. The “creekers” are HILARIOUS & I really think it was tied together with a good little bow at the end.

Callum Fletcher…my new favorite leading man!

Aww
Well written and just cute. There's a tiny bit of action, but it's mostly a romance. The reason for their fake engagement is a little weak, but they were such a cute couple, I didn't care.

Captivating
From that fateful day the met, this couple had my heart. The taunting and teasing to the joking. Incredible turn of events that showed true feelings. An excellent read!

More Than I Expected
I don’t remember how I stumbled upon this book. I’m glad I did, though. Callum and Layla’s story grabbed my attention and kept it. They meet when she’s part of the medical crew rescuing him from an accident. She’s new in town and healing from a relationship. He’s in a bind and looking at her as a fake engagement partner. Circumstances make it possible and their attraction towards each other grows as their farce continues. Callum has quite a bit of baggage from his childhood that he finally trusts Layla with and that bonds them even more. Falls Creek is a small town with a community of loving busybodies. I look forward to returning and seeing what’s in store for the next couple.

a first responder, fake relationship must read
Holy. Wow. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ On a scale of 1-5 stars...I would give this book 100 stars if I could. ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!! What an emotional yet inspirational read! The plot is devious, delicious, hot and steamy, with lots of sass, sarcasm and a twist I didn’t see coming. I loved every single word. The writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story. There are only a few books I will reread…and this is being added to that short list. It was fun, emotional, deep and just plain amazing!! Coming from a family of first responders (firefighters, medics, EMT’s, police officers, dispatchers, nurses, doctors & military) I truly appreciated the characters sarcasm and wicked sense of humors. This is an absolute must read!!!

So incredibly good!
LOVED this book so much it was so well written and the characters were just divine. I want to move to Falls Creek!I was hooked by the end of the first page and couldn’t put this book down. The main characters Layla and Callum were so good. Layla is sassy, friendly and caring. Callum is grumpy on the outside but cares deeply, plus he’s incredibly smexy. The description of Layla’s culture and the various professions was so well done. Layla’s family, Callum’s Gran and their work colleagues and friends were the kind of people that everyone should have in their life. This is a RomCom, fake engagement story and was one of the top 5 books I’ve read this year. I had a smile on my face for most of this book although there were a few emotional parts too.You need to read this book asap, it is so, so good.

Callum & Layla are great together
Maggie Gates is my hero for creating Callum. I really don't know what to say. Nice Story, well written and quiet a character improvement on Callums side. I would have loved a bigger showdown between Cal and his father but that's okay. I totally adore Laylas family the mix of tradition and independence. Layla is the badass bitch in a good way and Callum is the grumpy cop with the heart so big every Creeker has a place in it

Loooove!
This is my first time reading Maggie Gates and I've gotta say, I'm impressed! Falls Creek is such a quirky, charming small town, and I loved the fake fiance trope. This has got to be one of my favs, though. Callum and Layla were perfect together, their chemistry was on point! Can't wait to read the rest of this series!

Fun read. Loved her family. Good writing.
We first meet Layla in the Poker Club were she finds herself in love with a law man who has his heart set on someone else. She moves and ends up as a flight nurse. On her first flight there is an accident and officer Callum has to be stretchered to hospital after a truck hits his police car. She meet shim again when the place she is staying is condemned and he offers her a room in his house. He needs help from a stage one lunatic woman who wont leave him alone and asks her to be his fake fiancee. He doesnt believe in love after the mess of his parents but she is from a great family. She falls for him and Callum has to really take a look at himself.
