An Unexpected Read
Liv Zander shocked me with the quality of this book. I am not usually a āsmutā reader and typically more a fantasy, horror, and true-crime reader. However, this book hooked me within just a few pages. Her elegant world building and unique āmagicsā really blend together nicely to create a truly enjoyable setting. However, having said that, the book feels almost like it has two authors at times. Youāll have this perfectly fleshed out scene with strong dialogues that seems almost like a seasoned novelist meticulously laid out only to be briefly interrupted by a sentence or paragraph that feels like a teen girl wrote while blushing and snickering to herself. Some of the book is very predictable (mostly because the author would keep bringing up the same thing which lead you knowing where the book was going already). But, the book has a way of gripping you and pulling you along for the ride page by page. Which, makes for a very fast and enjoyable read because you wonāt want to put it down. I highly recommend this book to any and all dark fantasy romance lovers and even just fantasy lovers. I cannot wait to devour the next book in the series!

Hopong for Hardcover
I read this 2-Book Series in weekend. i had no expectattions but let's be real..that cover is amazing.I love the fluid storytelling from each character's POV never leaving confused or jarred from chapter to chapter.Galantia was somewhat believable and there were times i side-eyed her but i ended up kind of liking her by the end. Malyr was like a fine wine which had a great backstory.i loved Sebian--my only complaint with his character was the incessant use of "sweetheart".i will say i wish more of the charactersz were fleshed out more. There were times they seemed 2-dimensional. There was so much room to explore.i gave 4-stars for small editing lapses and a paragrah in book 2 has a character in a cell with Galantia and then suddenly he isn't And not on purpose.Overall, i was engrossed and invested. i liked the ending ... even though part of made me sad.

WHAT
I come from reading Kaylie Smith's and Keri Lake's books (TOTALLY RECOMMEND THEM!) but this book left me speechless on a whole different level... The title put me off a bit, but I decided to give it a go after coming across some fanart on Instagram lolSPOILERSI loved feeling the interactions so... "realistic". I loved the fine line between love and hate (how it just didn't turn into love from one day to another, and how the Ravens' definition of love is different and complicated), of how the captors had to restrain themselves to not "hurt/spoil" Galantia even though they clearly wanted to because well, they wanted her (and found some ways to put their hands on her regardless), and how complicated that dynamic was (Galantia depended on them, after all... what else could she do but give then some "favors"?)How she... experiences love (and more hate) here, while held captive, and how she accepts and even likes some really crude circumstances because... well, it's all she's even known or she just masochistically likes them, period. I loved that their dynamic (Galantia Myrl Sebian) flowed so well... until almost the end of the book. WHAT A GREAT PLOT TWIST. and then the ending?! Oh my God... I can only hope Myrl will crawl to Galantia in the next book. If he doesnāt, I don't really care (though I loved/hated him), but I do hope that she keeps in contact with Sebian at least... Beautiful and entertaining! And... disturbing and arousing.

Spicy Dark Romance
Feathers So Vicious by Liv ZanderThis book? Dangerously good. š„Iām new to dark fantasy, but this one grabbed me by the throatāin the best wayāand didnāt let go. Yes, there are some heavy triggers, so tread carefully⦠but I devoured it like a woman starved. The characters? Obsessively addictive. I mean⦠shadow men and a princess that is supposed to be off-limits⦠how can you get better than that? The banter? Sharp, wicked, and deadly. The tension? Twisted, toe-curling, and impossible to look away from.Think gothic castles, medieval danger, shadow magic that slithers under your skin, and spice that scorches the page. If youāre craving something dark, delicious, and a little dangerous⦠this one will feed that hunger.5š¶ļø5āļøTriggers: SA, murder, DV, violence, why choose, war, torture

Wow. Intense. Dark
What just happened? Haha thatās how I felt a lot reading this. Heavy heavy subjects and the most intense spice. And the spice is like clutch your pearls honey it is not for the lighthearted or weak ok I had to build a stomach and keep an open mind the whole time lol the reason I gave it three stars is because the world building isnāt the strongest I couldnāt really imagine or picture the places or characters. The spice was not my type lol Buuuuut I still really liked the story. It was really unique the magic was special the male leads were definitely my favorite. The female lead was probably the most mid Iāve read so far and thatās not a bad thing either Iāve read a lot of heroic females so this was a nice change. I come from Acotar and Kerri Lake books so this was different.

Torn between a 3 and a 4
I was pleased with the VERY end, but leading up to that, Iām not sure I was entirely pleased with the storyline. The main male character is one of my least favorite male characters Iāve ever metā I can totally get behind a morally grey character, but this one was just beyond. His behavior was so unacceptable and disgusting, it never truly made sense why Galantia would come around to him. He never really redeemed himself or his behavior, and so their connection didnāt feel very authentic or believable. And even the ābetterā of the two men was still not greatā he got better of course, but he still had pretty massive character flaws that I had trouble overlooking or understanding the draw to.If this was a singular book, it wouldāve been a 3. But because itās a duet and I am going to read the second book (I HAVE to know how she handles these loser men), Iām going to give it a 4.
