Is the zipper plastic or metal?

The zipper teeth are plastic and the zipper is metal.

Has anyone tried to wash and dry this vs hand washing and line drying?

This washes just fine on a regular cycle with similar colors. Have not dried in dryer. Probably would just wear it down but seems like a good enough material/quality to toss in dryer
