Works wonderfully! Smells like smoke however…
I have been using a pine tar soap which smells amazing, like a pine Forrest, so wondered why everyone had issues with the smell of this shampoo?I’ve had an itchy scalp recently, so went looking for a good shampoo to help. I have to say in this regard, it worked miracles. After using once my scalp was noticeably better, after a few more uses (over the course of a week) my itchiness was gone and has not returned. Now for the elephant in the room, the smell. It smells like smoke to my mind, not the pine tar scent I had previously experienced from other products. Is it pleasant, not really, I smell like I’ve been burning wood and not in a good way. That said, it is easy to deal with by means of deodorant and aftershave.I bought it for it’s scalp soothing properties and in that it excelled, so for me it’s a clear 5 stars.

Smells overwhelmingly of BBQ sauce
It helped with my Psoriasis right away and the returning itchiness is very slow to return (almost a week) The only bad thing about this product is the Smell. It Smells overwhelmingly of BBQ sauce, which is weird and after a few minutes makes me feel nauseous. It's a good shampoo and does the job but the smell doesn't make me look forward to using it regularly.

Great smoky smell!
I have always found that a wood tar-based shampoo is most effective for treating scalp conditions. This smoky shampoo has really helped treat my scalp, and the 500ml size makes it good value for money.

Does what it says it does.
Stopped the itching. Hair feels soft and clean. No conditioner needed. Smelled a little smokey, but not overpowering

the smell
haven't used it yet so i can't comment on that. i just wanted to say as an initial impression, the strong smell everyone's mentioning? its barbecue sauce. to me at least, it smells very distinctly of barbecue sauce, which i suppose makes sense. i'm not necessarily opposed to that but i can see how some people would be.

Very strong smell
I can't say if this product works or not because I just couldn't get past the smell. I've used Polytar shampoo before so I was expecting the same sort of smell as that but this was so overpowering I just couldn't carry on using it. Even now, after washing my hair a few times with regular shampoo, I can still smell it!

Works well, quite strong smell.
Have started using this since a major brand I was previously using changed their product from a tar base to something else and have found that the tar ones work best for me. This has been comparable, working well, it does have a very strong smell just due to what it is, bit like a bonfire smell. Good value for money compared to others.
