Q: Is there a 11-36t? why is the title 11-36t yet there isn't a 11-36t choice?

Q: I have a shimano tiagra, 10 speed: 12-30 on a road bike (trek fx7.7) and i would love to go to this 11-42 caasette. do you think that it will work?

This is what I learned when I installed this on a bike with a SRAM X9 medium length cage derailleur: It shifted ok on the first 9 cogs but struggled to make a clean down shift or up shift onto the biggest cog. I wasn't surprised as the medium cage X9 RD is spec'd for a 36 tooth cog max. I swapped in a long cage X0 RD and it operated flawlessly. You will need to determine the chain wrap capacity of your rear derailleur to determine if it will shift across all cogs. There are varying hacks available to you to try such a installing a longer B screw, using a GoatLink, or perhaps a J Tek ShiftMate coupled with a Shimano MTB rear derailleur. I hope this helps.

Q: will it work on a 8 speed Specalized stout hub?

You need to measure you cassette hub and or the witch of the 8 spreed cassette. There are a few Youtube's of people measuring and trying this. I fit an 11 speed cassette onto a 9 speed so I would think you shod be OK. You can always return it.

Mine had 8, I swapped the 8 one with this, changed the chain and rear derailleur and shifter. Works great

Genuine Shimano

I needed the cassette to replace for my trainer and how could you go wrong for the price genuine Shimano I don’t think it would be worth saving six or eight dollars to buy a knock off when these are available.
