CONANT T16LFB Vermont Grande View Thermometer, Living Finish Brass

Was looking for good old fashioned liquid thermometer to monitor outside temperature from inside. No batteries to worry about. Very accurate. Easy to read numbers from inside my house. High quality.

I had previously gotten most all my outdoor thermometers from LL Bean but this time they didn't have what I was looking for. Instead I gave the Conant brand outdoor thermometer a try. I am so glad I did. It is beautiful, easy to read and really adds some architectural interest to my kitchen window. Definitely recommend. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

This thermometer is really large. It almost looks like a toy. But it is the perfect size to see the temperature. The instructions are not clear—so obviously made in China—don’t let the “Vermont” fool you in the name. It takes more than the states 5 minutes to install. Putting the brackets on is not intuitive and when you unscrew the finials, the entire thermometers falls apart and it’s really hard to reassemble. But once you figure it out, it’s easy. They don't tell you the drill bit size you need and there are clear plastic washers that you can’t see and they don’t mention—so look for those. It’s expensive. But it looks really nice.

Read the 1 star reviews as well as the 4 star. Mine also was dead on arrival (it is not -30F in my house). Working on a refund.

Seems to be reading accurate, so far. It is well built, not flimsy junk.

Ease to read at right angle but red line is thin at most other angles. Seems to track temp well.

Check morning temp. Perfect easy to read. Great vendor arrived early in good order.

This thermometer is just as shown. Very beautiful. VERY accurate.
